Default Your next car...

just curious here.... what is your next car going to be and why?

as much as I love my Crossfire I can't see me keeping it more than about 3/4 years (in fairness that would be a record for me actually keeping a car!!) and I'm already looking to save towards my next toy.

Currently I'm pretty much hankering after a Camaro SS2, colour-wise I'd go for red, yellow, blue or grey (in that order) with the slush box... figure that by then value should be mid-to-high teens which'll make it affordable in the UK. I know panel-fit and finish won't be as good a the XF but it's just such a great looking car with very good performance . The extra space will be a bonus and (over here at least) it'll be nearly as rare as a XF

Good question. Having only owned mine for 4 months I haven't really considered a replacement but when I do I think it will have to be 4WD.

My previous car was a Mitsubishi Evolution VIII and it would have had no problem in this snow.

We saw a few Camaro's in Vegas and they do look the dogs nuts. Will they be available as a UK spec car or will you forced to own a left hooker?

VW CC.

Driven it. (2 days). Top-notch build quality. Top-notch materials. Good looking, and cheap for what you get.

would be a personal import LHD - my XF is the 1st car in 12 years which has been RHD and I have to admit that I do miss the whole LHD thing (I know, I'm nuts!!)... if I had the money now for a new one I've already (virtually) built the spec I'd want...

SS2
6sp auto (even though it's slightly down on hp)
RS package
Standard rims
Beige leather
Black (or silver) hood and hockey stripes
Red/yellow/blue (and the blue looks awesome!!)
Ground effects

total cost $40.5k... 3 or 4 years time - affordable

I don't know that my next purchase would be a Camaro, but if it was it would be a 2SS/RS. It would also be in Black w/ Matte Black stripes.

However, I'm thinking the next car I buy will be a MB, most likely a CLK or C. It won't replace the SRT, but rather add-on to. That won't happen for another year or two, so I'm not thinking about it too much...However, it would def have an AMG badge.

Honda Element, or Tacoma quad-cab. I probably won't sell the XF, unless it's to buy a 911.

At the rate I drive my crossfire, I'll have 70,000 miles on it after 20 years

My next car will probably be another Crossfire.

Gotta sell some of the other cars first.

I'm thinking my next car (but still keeping my XF) will be the Cadillac CTS coupe as my DD.

Funny I went through the Camaro urges earlier this summer and quite frankly I'm glad I don't have that "urge" anymore. Nice cars but there are far more around here than Crossfires. My second "urge" car was a Mustang GT but they too are everywhere. The only car I'd say is next at this moment in time would be some sort of hot rod..... a 32 or 33 Ford. With finances right now that's a pipedream. There is nothing right now I'd rather own than my Crossfire provided it continues to be as dependable as it has. As long as I am close to work and can avoid driving my car in bad weather either a hot rod or the Crossfire works fine for me. Make no mistake I LOVE MY CROSSFIRE!

Depends on the income situation as I would still be keeping the Crossfire along with my first year model PT Cruiser. And I'd definitely need a bigger garage because between myself and Bladecutter and our car and motorcycle obsessions, we ran outta room before we even moved in to this house.

If income was somewhat better then now (which is the only reason I'd be looking for another car) and being of a positive mindset, this will be happening in the future:
Porsche Cayman S - Macadamia Metallic with Sand Beige interior

If income was CONSIDERABLY increased:
Ferrari California - color may well depend upon my mood that day, lol. Would be hard not to get a red one tho, Rosso Scuderia.

If income was no object because I was FILTHY, STINKING RICH:
Konigsegg CCXR Edition with red accents on that gorgeous black carbon fiber. The car that I'd have to build my own track for and would probably never leave my property again after that because, um, why?

My next car will most certainly be another Crossfire.
I'll be hunting down one of those garage queens with the low miles
and most likely will move into a roadster with a stick.
My friend Carol let me have hers for 4 days and I racked up about 430 miles top down and a stick....
LOVED EVERY MINUTE OF IT

Although I still think the Coupe has the best body lines

If / when I ever replace my XFire, it will be with a Boxster S, as that's the only thing that comes close in my opinion. VW is coming out with a roadster in 2012, and that might be a consideration.

My plan is to continue with a manual shift German roadster as the "fun" car and a Jeep as the winter/daily driver.

I've been buying cars based on the amount of money I have saved, what I can afford and what is the best deal for the money and I will most likely continue to do that. I plan on having the crossfire for a few more years so I have no idea what my next car may be . If I can afford it, the upcoming CTS-V wagon is my current favorite, they should be alot cheaper when my time comes for me to pick one up.

Hey Valk - Sounds like you're after mine. I'll take good care of it and keep the miles low for you.

Just do it. I too think the coupe has better lines but I also love the feel of the top down. I love the manual. I feel it has more pep then the automatic. It may be the wind and the experience of hearing the engine roar. You don't get that in the coupe. I also realized I have to clean the inside more often because of the top being down. Just a quick note. At my age you sometimes get weird looks from the younger kids when they see their grandfather in a top down, red car with the music playing the hits of the 50s and 60s. Oh well it is their problem not mine. I am just enjoying life. Oh! almost forgot. I get twice the grins per mile in the roadster. Manual six speed takes a little getting used to the pattern.

PS I miss the courtesy light when I try to find something in the dark when driving. Solution put a small carry a small flash light in the center console. Second, I do find it hard to have a cup of drink and shift. Solution don't drink and drive.
