Continental commissioned Peter Max to paint a B -777, designated as the NYC Millennium plane as a commemoration to New York city’s 1999 New Year’s celebration. The special "Peter Max" livery remained on the plane from 1999 until it was repainted into the standard Continental livery in early 2008.
Continental Airlines' "Houston Proud Express" was a unique intracity jet shuttle service operating between Houston Intercontinental (IAH) and Hobby (HOU) airports
Duration: Operated from August 18, 1986, to January 15, 1988.
Aircraft: Primarily used a Douglas DC-9-14 (N38641).
Significance: It was rare as an intra-city, scheduled jet service, connecting two airports located within the same city limits.
Delivered straight from Douglas Aircraft in February 1969, N950PB was sold to Omni Aircraft Sales in March 1976, and the following month it arrived with Linea Aeropostal Venezolana. Four years later, in 1979, it moved on to fly with Aeromexico where it continued to operate until 2004. At the point of retirement, it was ferried to Guadalajara for storage. In 2008, it was dismantled and moved to a park at Cadereyta de Montes, Querétaro, Mexico. There it remains to this day on display.
