Hey thanks for the help but that's just the silver cover for the door pull. I looked at the same thing and called them to check on that.

There is no separate core.

The silver piece still left in the door in the picture is only glued to the door panel on the backside. Then it is bolted to the actual door. I'm hoping someone has a broken door panel that still has a good door pull that they can pop out.

Finding this other thread I now understand the door pull splits apart and has a front part and a back half.

This is what I did last year. Call the dealer and explain that the complete door pull must be replaced and get the price and part number. Then go to http://www.moparpartsamerica.com/splash/index.cfm?siteid=214583
enter part number for a discounted price. This is a dealership website but seems to give discounted or more reasonable prices. Place the order and follow up to assure that the parts are the complete assembly.

The parts can be installed without taking the door panel off but you must be aggressive but careful at the same time. There are three tabs on each end, that lock the pull into the panel, these can be pushed past the panel carefully.

I have the same friggin problem. Tried explaining it to multiple dealships, multiple times, showed them the broken part, etc, always end up getting the same damn cover piece though. Let me know if you have any success finding the strap piece because I need to get my hands on one.
