Just need to be good on a mig and should be to bad.
Making bolt on brackets would be alot better than the weld on, it is not like welding on a old truck frame this is thin steel and trying to weld very thin to very thick is not a good idea, and welder set not to burn through thin will not be hot enough for any penetration on the thicker and will break, I have seen nice looking welds, hit with a hammer and the plate falls off, popped off the weld with 0 penetration. some welding tricks to help but much better making a bolt on kit

you do realize you are asking questions in a thread that is over 18 months old?? i hope you don't expect an answer. you can try to PM the members that were in the original thread and see if one might respond and have as better chance of getting information..
