I just answered your PM. I'll have Zunsport file a claim with FedEx and reproduce your order. I'll keep you advised . . . Happy New Year . . .

Default Group buy / crossfire custom stainless steel wire mesh grilles

onehundred80, I received my NOS right front lower grill a few days ago. It seemed to me that it snapped in real tight. That said, I wonder what happened to it in the first place. Apparently it arrived with it missing.

I hope I never need to find out, but it occurred to me that if someone slightly smacked a post in the front or just accidentally parked too close to a wall and pushed the front up against it - in either case, could it distort the front plastic unit to warp enough to pop one or both of the lower vents out?

though most likely it would probably take a pretty hard smack. Does the front unit's plastic have a memory so if it takes a fairly hard smack at low speed, it pops back, or does one then need to run down to their neighborhood Chrysler dealer and pick up a new one? (I don't do happy faces).

I made a center spine for mine, dramatically changes the look. Would buy the side strakes in a New York minute.

New York Minute :
The smallest measurable amount of time in the universe. Approximately equal to the time between a traffic light turning green in New York City and the cab driver behind you honking his horn.

If the strakes are also stainless, they not only appear to be two piece, but of course there are three lengths which also applies to the upper parts. Assuming they are at least the same, left to right, that still calls for six stamping molds. Not to mention that fasteners would need to be welded onto the backs. The grills themselves should be a relative piece of cake.

Where did these actual ones come from? I'd find it hard to believe that they are photorealism. There should be stamping molds somewhere...or not.

Regarding the center spines, I agree they do enhance the silver grills. I'm fine without them on my black grill, which is on my black XF.

I'm sure the grill was a photoshop rendering. I've been wanting this grill since 2006.

The strakes show up in the Chrysler Design Institute site. So the design is registered one would imagine.
I am thinking the grille itself came from there as well of course.
There are a total of 3 + 3 strake assemblies, and 2 grilles + the grille backing wires if they are independently attached to the slit front portion.
The set would certainly get my attention.
Until then ....

Well, I just got a FEDEX Duty and Tax Invoice in the mail for $14.68. Dept. Of The Treasury/ US Customs Service customs duty fee of $8.18 + some sort of Advancement Fee of $6.50. This is the first time I've ever been requested to pay duty tax on overseas purchases. I guess this is just one way the government will make us pay for Obamacare.
So much for the over 20 buyers discount!

I'd be surprised, side grilles have been around since the '50s. If made functional and stainless I suspect that would be enough differences but might want to ask a lawyer.

ps I just received the same from fedex but for $12.65 - $6.15 duty and $6.50 Fedex fee for processing the $6.15 (upper grille only). I thought all fees were being paid by the shipper.

please have the shipper investigate.

Don't worry.. this is just to warm you up a little for Obamacare.. Think of it like a proctologist doing a test fit for the camera .. Just be glad polaroids are outdated..
