Default Cheap Billet Grilles

I would like to give a heads-up to anyone interested in CHEAP billet Grilles. ($35 incl shipping) I bought one off E-Bay not really knowing what the quality would be for the price, I was more than surprised when I received it, Great Quality and easy to fit. I have just ordered the matching lower grilles. ($32 incl shipping)

Yep.. and as posted on Facebook.. kills me to buy from them.. but at least I had pay pal protection on the purchase. Two phone calls from them about shipping our wheels this month.. and they have not even responded to Visa on the claim. 3 weeks left.. then they will probably have some lexani wheels on ebay too.. LOL. Found a few vendors on them in the Tulsa area so it will be face to face order with no doubts this next round.. Even if just like CarID.. they don't ask ..LOL

Hmm.. wonder if they are liquidating stock since they will soon have 5K "in stock" on 4 wheels.. ROFL

I just drilled holes in the plastic front piece. Even if I eventually change back to stock, the holes will not be visible. ???

I didn't mark and check to see myself.. Just didn't like how the bolt lug was inset from the grille edge.. meaning it was not going to be pulled down tight with a bolt. And the lower tab shoots upward.. meaning bend it down to get it angled right and still an air gap since you can't tighten it down fully. Got some springs to pull the bottom in and like I say making a couple brackets to run off factory bolt holes to the grill lugs at the top. Just me being picky I guess.. LOL

These abhorrent pieces of garbage are not Billet, they are pieces of steel stock welded together.

Ahh... that new light weight hollow tubing steel ! I didn't hit it with a magnet since it sure feels light enough to be aluminum. My BBQ grill is heavier than this is.. Super secrete rustproof formula also? I've yet to see one with any traces.

It's not "locked" down.. just have springs at the bottom and it's pulled in a little far without top brackets - duct tape for alignment points. Already had the lowers from a while back. I'll also have to touch up where the OEM wore the paint.

By definition tubing is hollow . . . they may be aluminum but that doesn't mean they are "billet".
Billet means that it (the object) in its entirety was milled from a larger chunk of material, that is certainly not the case with these grilles. They are made from pieces of stock welded together.

And by definition.. steel is a far cry from aluminum. I'm sure anything else that says "Billet aluminum" like for my Avalanche.. would come from one block milled out.. LOL

Simply my opinion. Paying any money for something that doesn't look good but gives the car all the character of a pimped out Cadillac is not money well spent.

How about.. ummm.. your comment is pretty useless to anyone thinking about getting one? I don't think anyone would really think a 300 lb block of aluminum was milled down to these and sold for 35 bucks.. Not even in China..

And I wanted to correct your BIG mistake on them being steel.. they are not. But I'm sure you have one in hand to give us your full review of it..
