Default Tonneau side flap cable

I am looking for a 5140962AA TONNEAU SIDE FLAP CABLE at a good price. Any suggestions?

The dealer closest to me wants $160.00 (+TAX) for the stupid thing. I said are you nuts? Its basically a glorified motorcycle throttle cable!!!! I can get one of those with braided stainless steel sleeving for less than $80...

This stuff drives me nuts

Thanks in Advance!!!

Put the part number in a Google search box and you'll get quite a few options . . . Looks like around $90 is your best available price.

Mopar Part 5140962AA TONNEAU SIDE FLAP CABLE

That part is no longer available from Chrysler (and wasn't used on the similar Mercedes) so if you find one, don't hesitate to buy it!

Please take a moment to update your profile information so we will know a bit more about you and your Crossfire without having to ask basic questions. Find information here:

You can take it off and head for the nearest motorcycle or bicycle shop and get a new cable put in the sleeve with a new swaged end.
( better take both cables off so they get the measurement right. )

BTW: I bought a motorcycle cable luber off eBay so I can keep mine all slicky.

Well Dr. George, I think those on the forum who reported trying that never experienced long lasting results with the "fix". Just my recollection of things as I become more surround by that darned "age fog" . . .

I think the key is getting a new cable installed, not just swaging an end on the old cable.
I could be wrong.

I have built custom motorcycles since the mid 70's and made alot of custom cables. Mine lasted as long or longer than the OEM parts..! No swaging, torched thethe ends on with gas torch and solder. If they are done "RIGHT" they are as good as buying a pre-made unit. I am going to take the good one off and match it up of course. Moved to Southern Nevada and brought the Xfire with me.... Selling it now. No room for a 2nd car. 2 motorcycles, 2 cars, 1 RZR and trailer. Need to downsize.

Thanks guys!!!
