Default Poll: Vendors must add price

As a frequent visitor to other car forums I've noticed that there is frequently a requirement that prices be attached to any and all items offered for sale. This seems to go a long way in expediting transactions and ends the needless back and forth that email-tag can produce.

So then, I move that items for sale offered at crossfireforum.org be accompanied by price and whether or not shipping is included.

Makes sense to me.

Generally this is a good idea but sometimes people do not have an idea of the price they should ask, in which case soliciting offers is a good way to find out the items worth to other people.

I agree with onehundred80.

Some parts for our cars tend to be pretty expensive. sometimes its now how much is it worth, its about how much someone is willing to pay.

I believe 'vendors' offering items should list something as a price in the post TITLE, then add something like 'negotiable' if not firm on the price (also in title). This simple step saves us members a lot of time down the line. Someone selling an item SHOULD at least research some before posting. Otherwise, a LOT of time is wasted before a decision is made. I gleaned this from many years of looking at future 'impulse' buys here. I vote for inclusion of prices!

I think we should have a category like a mini eBay.
You post what you have with a picture, minimum bid and a cutoff date/time.
Buyers would IM you with their bid, at the cut off you would inform the buyer that they won and include your paypal address while requesting a shipping address.
( You would have the option of specifying in the original ad as to shipping being included or not )

Also if you are nice, you could IM the losers and say better luck next time, loser !

I think eBay is the best place to sell items, especially the higher priced items. You'll either sell it or not, and not be bothered by very low offers.

If someone wants to sell something the offer to sell should include a price. The seller should know what something is worth before they post the sale offer.

an item is worth whatever someone is willing to pay period. One part may not mean anything to one buyer while another hasn't been able to find that part anywhere and is willing to pay top dollar. So, I would never put a price on anything I have to sell... Make an offer...

Now a vendor, like Rob at Needswings, puts prices on his items. That is the difference.

Brilliant. I'm gonna recommend that Walmart try this.

If people want to sell something without an initial price it is up to them.
Remember the old saying, "If you have to ask the price you probably cannot afford it."

I think that with less than one month on the forum it is a bit presumptuous of you to be trying to add a rule on what people should or should not be doing. This forum has been going for years now without too many rules and has survived while others have failed. Moderators would have to be more vigilant and erase more posts, I had a post erased when I jokingly added an humidor for sale in a thread with no price. Sometimes some people do not see the funny side of a joke or totally misread what has been said, always taking it to mean an insult.

So how long should a member be here before he can put his 2 cents in? A member is a member.

Everybody has an opinion. If you don't like my "NO" price, then don't participate. Pretty damned simple. I have to agree with Dave on this one. Cranky ole' bastards have their ways, and don't step on them....lol.

Hey, I give more stuff away than I sell....lol. Just an opinion....that's all. Vendors price their wares, but I see no reason for a "rule" to price something from an individual. You all know I will be fair in what little I have sold, most was past on... That is what car guys do. We help each other out.
