Default 6th in '06

The final standings for the 2006 season for NASA Southern California region were published while I was out of town... I'm proud to say the little Crossfire placed 6th overall...

Now it's time to dial-it-up in 2007...

Congratulations Derek! Can't wait to see how you get on in 2007. Those rule changes are a bit of blow though, but seeing as you will have to compete with the big boys now you can probably get away with some more extreme mods without bumping you out of the class.

Exactly what I was thinking Derek...while it's gonna be tougher with the existing setup, I'd bet you have more room to upgrade no?

By the way, here's a wreck that I thought you'd like to see for parts. I realize is repairable to drive, but if the price is right, it might be a good donor car.

Thanks guys... I didn't think I would place that well since I missed a few events due to work. Now, with the 2007 rule changes that bump me to TTC class, I have to figure out which additional modifications will benefit me without bumping me up another class...

I'm thinking cheap first... I'm going to reduce more weight by cutting the door frames, hood frames and remove the hood hinges. I'll also cut the rear hatch framing and replace the glass with lexan. If I can reduce another 150 lbs, I'll be happy. Also, I'll probably install the Schrick cams and have the custom headers built now. If I had more time I would try to get that SRT6 engine I bought (minus SC) installed...

I still have to compute the current modification points that I have been assessed under the 2007 rules to see where I'm at, before I dive into this thing...

I'll keep you all posted... It's going to be a bit crazy for me since I have to temporarily move to South Carolina on February 14th.
