Cal. Speedway Video
Cal. Speedway Video
Hey guys, here's the course layout we're running in March... For those of you who haven't run this track before, might not be a bad idea to review the video a few times...

Re: Cal. Speedway Video
I ran the interior course at a Red Line event at the speedway last year.
Interesting to see that on the interior course the RUF 911 hit 114 on the back straight and 136 on the longer front. With my box stock SRT6 I ran 110 on the back and my buddy hit 130 on the front.
Not bad for a "leftover old design" with that horrible recirc ball steering.
I have no doubt the SRT6s running will hit the rev limiter (maybe one will exceed that because of some ECU work ).

hey since you've run speedway before perhaps you should join us and show us the line. I always do better when following someone who knows what the hell they're doing... hahaha.

You guys in the SRT's should definitely be able to hit rev limit... I'll be lucky to hit 135... But you never know with this -400 pounds I took out of the car... Doesn't the equation work like this, every 10 lbs of mass takes 1 hp... It'll be interesting to see how my times improve from last year before I gutted the car completely...
PS: I'm going for it this season... I secured a sponsorship that will pay me $200 and reimburse my entry fees for every podium finish... So, when you see the car, it's going to have a lot of stupid decals on it...

Good choice BTW... They disperse heat very well because they are Carbon / Kevlar... You'll still get a bit of grimey dust, but they will keep you from brake fade...

A quick note on the brakes...I let my buddy drive the SRT for one session. He used to race SCCA and he is very fast. A little hard on the brakes though. When I ran the last session I noticed the brakes were a little spongy. He figured he "boiled" the brake fluid. It was a hot day and we ran some sessions back to back. We drained the system and replaced it with Motul racing fluid.
The Speedway is practically in my back yard, but unfortunately I will be away on business when you all run.
Good luck to you all.
Re: Cal. Speedway Video
I ran across this terrific video from one of the NASA HPDE instructors back in 2004. The text is kinda hard to read and the video is really long, but I would make it recommended viewing for you guys.
