Default Road America 10-07-2007

I was at Road America today, and saw a Black Crossfire there. Was it anyone from here??!! I Did the touring session. First time driving on a real track, what a rush. Nothing like getting the chance to push a car to the limits and taking turns at Highway speeds.

Hey, glad to see you finally got it out there. I have toured that track 7 times now. Sure is an easy and painless way to get a taste of what the car can do. That Canada Corner will really get your attention. Did you notice how you could outbreak anything short of the exotics?

Were you there? There was a black crossfire doing lapping sessions. It's been a while since I got rid of my crossfire, since then I have had an '04 G35, '07 G35, and currently (drove Road america) have a '04 R32. The R32 definitely had some great braking power, and handled really well through the turns considering everything is stock right now. Thanks to the FWD/AWD I don't think I would have been able to push the G35 as hard. First time doing anything like this, and it wouldn't be pretty scary to loose the back end. I volunteered to work the corners for the morning half (corner 11B on the straight) and saw a pretty bad crash. Silver Audi (believe it was an A4 turbo'd), or maybe an s4 turbo'd). Car was totaled. Also saw a viper blow a $70,000 engine. Must be nice to have that kind of cash. There was also a Carrera GT, which I was shocked to see in Wisconsin, let alone Northern wisconsin, practically in the middle of nowhere.

Nope wasn't me. Wish it was. I am always surprised that they count 11B as a corner. The big boys don't let up on the hammer through there.

Road America can attract a lot of really good machines. There may be more technical tracks in the midwest but if you want to really turn the dogs loose, this is the one.
