Default 03-04 Mach 1

Was on the way home in the SRT6 entering hwy 10 and had an all black 03-04 MACH 1 behind me sending me tunes of power. It was clear ahead of me so I thought I'd accept the invite so from about 40 MPH I hit the 'button'. He played alright, stayed right there up to 90 MPH, didn't appear I pulled on him at all. I though he might even be holding back. I let up and he passed me with kind-of a 'flyby' maneuver and got in front of me in the left lane so I figured it was still 'game-on'. This time with him in front he couldn't pull on me! We slowed to the speed limit (65) and cooled it, I figured we were done. We caught up to some traffic and as usual I worked my way through it. I don't understand why traffic goes 59-62 MPH in a 65 zone and there is nothing up ahead? Wellllll he ended up behind me again in the left lane. Then I heard that V8 start to ROAR, what a pretty sound, he went from the left lane through the center lane into the far right lane thinking he could run around me, I gave the little V6 all it had and off we went 65 to approx 110 and we seemed dead even, at 110 I had enough and braked down to 65, again he zipped past me with that 'fly-by' type maneuver. A few miles ahead he took an exit and when going by I gave him the thumbs-up but he ignored it. Noticed he was fairly young looking and not real happy.
Anyone who says I should not race like this is CORRECT. I usually don't but the SOUND of the MACH 1 boiled the adrenaline in my veins.
With equal drivers (putting the pedal to the floor successfully) is this the expected outcome?

Great STORY!

Central/NW Minnesota roads are great for building up speed.

I remember my drive to Brainerd was amazing. Some of the cornfield stretches are a good 5 miles with no exits or entraces, pencil-straight, and 4 lanes of baby-smooth tarmac. 110mph seems like nothing on those roads.

AFAIK, you have more power, less weight and probably less drag than the Mach 1.

You're right, though, the V8 sounds dirty and nasty, which as far as exhausts go, is a good thing.

There was a Mach 1 at the track one day that I went and it obviously had some mods done and was running slicks. Pulled into the 12s when the driver mod was activated. The cars are no joke with a little bit of work

If you're talking about the Terminator Cobras, no. Cobras with mods can be putting down 500-600+rwhp, and 400+rwhp shouldn't be that uncommon. The Mach 1 is about comparable with an LS1 F-Body. A nice rear end gear makes it pretty tough from a dig.
