So I went to the track tonight to play around with my new datalogger. Conditions were pretty crappy. My best run was only a 12.65@110.

But I did get to race a modified Delorean. When I first got to the track, I heard over the PA that he ran a 12.7. So I'm thinking, cool, it would be a good race if we got to line up. Well, we did, twice. The second run sucked for both of us. I spun tire real bad and he broke something before the 1/8 mark.

But our first run was fun:

He put in a Toyota 2jz inline 6 (said that's what's in the Supra) with a 62mm turbo. It had the strangest sound too. I thought my gears where being chewed up until he passed me and the noise went with him. Scared me for a few seconds

Great guy to talk to. He even gave me props on my SRT.

Just thought I'd share.

 

Their is no he said about it THAT ENGINE PUT SUPRA AMONG THE BEASTS OF Buildable street cars. You would be crazy to go against him in the first place. Be glad he didnt have a sequential setup you might would have serious been contemplating putting the cover on the SRT for a while. LOL

 

Did it look kinda strange when you hit 88 mph?

I heard him tell some guy it only weighed around 2700. Just checked Wikipedia and it says 2712. Who knew?!
