Default NHRA rules for racing

This is for oldoc2u and others to enjoy.

Here is the link for helmet and roll bar and roll cage requirements.

NHRA Tech Questions

While it may be up to each track to decide to let you run under 13.49 for verts in the Sportsman class the only problem that I see may arise is from someone jealous if you start winning. They can protest that your car is illegal under NHRA rules and get you disqualified. Worst then that is if you won enough races to qualify to run at your divisional at the end of the year and traveled to that track and they won't tech you under 13.50.

I run in the sportsman class and love it. I encourage more out there to try a few times. Our cars have such an advantage. The best is the fastest anyone can run in Sportsman is 12.00 or it's an automatic DQ.

yeah, they told me that at the track, but this group thought that was chicken **** and assured me I would have a blast running with them...the announcer that night told everyone that this was my first time down the track since I last ran my '71 camaro there in 1973. A lot has changed, but not really, the kids in the pits are gear heads just like we use to be...

I had a great track staff that supported me as well when I first started going out there. I joined the team and raced with them the past 2 years, now I'm one of the boys. As long as you have the support of the team, you should be alright. It's a blast and when they let off thinking they have you covered, then our SC kicks in and pulls that top end on them.

Our season starts in January so have to get reaction times down again. Too bad you weren't on this side of the country to join us for our bracket race.

that would be fun...still coming out your way next summer for a visit.....though....as long as I am at this track I will be fine, but I have been banned at Indy...so, I wouldn't be surprised if I tried to run somewhere else...I can run at US 41, but it is an outlaw track as well...IHRA

Good thing once you join a team at that track all your races for the season will be there. Even the wally races. I was one round away from winning a wally race so that's still on my list. If you don't have it already, get your NHRA membership application in and paid for. They take about a month to get your card to you. They will fax you proof if you need it for your first race.

It's hot here in the summer be sure to come by and visit. This season our track is actually scheduling events early in the year so we don't race much during the summer. It was brutal the last two seasons. We would start around 9pm and race till sometimes 4am. The divisionals are in Sacramento for 2010, can't wait. Hope I make it there.

wow, they start racing about 7:30 in the evening here, but it is all summer. April thru Oct. They will go until after midnight as well...it's just a fun atmosphere that I missed for a long time. There are some old die hards out there as well. Can't wait to get started, but the coupe is a definite buy. So once I own a coupe, I will mod it for the racing and just cruise in my 12 second vert, if not an 11 secound vert before the coupe becomes a reality...lol..

Mike, that would have to be another year...vacations don't last that long for me to do the big circle...I do want to make a Texas gtg, since there are so many owners out that way. I will swing thru CO. then to Texas, of if I can keep moving AZ., but head back home from there....love to come out your way, but that might be 2011....lol
