Default Round 1: Australian Grand Prix

What was Jenson thinking passing Massa outside the track and not giving the spot back. He would’ve finished 3rd (possibly)

Poor Mercedes with Schumacher pulling off and then Rubens driving into Rosberg just 2 laps later

Webber pulled off immediately after the race. Did Redbull have problems with Mark’s car?

Petrov with a Podium way to go Renault, great drive for that kid.

Too bad about Sauber’s disqualification. They really had a strong showing.

Before the weekend I feared that McLaren’s wouldn’t have pace, but they showed with this new car they are getting it together.

I expected more from Ferrari. They just seemed to have struggled all weekend while RedBull looked like they had a free pass.

I actually like the rear flap. I don’t think it works in the dirty air like they expected, but I think it’s a cool idea. They need more zones to be able to use it though.

And Finally the tires. There’s a lot more pitstops, which gives you a lot more strategies, and I like that. I think it adds the dynamic that refueling had given us.

OK so much for the race report. How did the party go? You guys rent "Le Mans" to preview before the race?

I gotta tell ya, no way I was getting up at 1:00 to watch it.

I brought my 360 over and had F1 2010 going before the race. Party started around 10:00 and ended around 3:00 with about 10 people there.

Albert Park is a street course much like Monaco, definatly not enough space to use the new wing.

The next race in Malaysia will really show what that wing can do!

It was a good race all in all, I personally think it will be a 3 horse race this year for the Championship Vettle, Hamilton & Button.

If Mclaren get their cars to the same standard as Red Bull then it will make for a very exciting season.

John.

My early pick for the Champion is Vettel... Nissan assists in sponsoring the Renault-powered Red-Bull racer, and I'm a fan of Vettel as a person.

my son works for the renault F1 team at their headquarters in enstone oxfordshire, on their computor systems and he told me it was a very happy team debriefing at the factory this week celebrating a podium finish just hope petrov can keep it up and heidfeld will be more competitive, its a shame that kubica is out for the season as the car is looking good, looking forward to the next one in kuala lumpur..

I wouldn't say "much like Monaco", after all you can make mistakes at Albert Park without being in the fence. At Monaco you can't breath hard or you're out of the race. I personally like Melbourne's Circuit. Unlike a Tilke designed circuit, this one has some character.

As much as I despise him, you can't count out Alonso.

Albert Park is a beautiful track it's a shame our government is so dead set on canceling it after it's contract runs out in 2015.

I don't know if Alonso isn't as good as Vettle & Hamilton as a driver or if Ferrari's cars are not performing.

Well now that its two races and two podiums, one has to think that they might have something in this car, or everyone else is just messing up (a bit of both i think). Good old Nick came through and while I don't follow him as a fan, I was pleased for him in his swansong in f1 (or not). I'm a Kubica fan starting from his days at Sauber after taking over from JV. One could only imagine what this car would do in his hands, but now I just hope his hands will come back, he's a great talent.

But for now, it seems that the Vettel/Redbull combination are seemingly becoming Schumacher/Ferrari (esque), a cut above the rest. But time and events will tell. I did hear one of the Speed Channel announcer say something was being rummaged around regarding the Red Bull car not being "in line with spec" but I didn't catch any details. If you have news on that please post.
China is this weekend so we'll see if the trends become clearer.

So your son is on the Renault f1 team? hmmm...ok here's my shopping list
1. Kubica Helmet (he's not using it presently, so i'm sure that won't be a problem to get)
2. Spare Nose/Wing assembly....I need to dress up my office and what a better display of wall art. I'll take care of shipping :P
3. A date with Petrov's manager - who needs grid girls! Actually, she is an interesting character in the F1 pits, haven't seen someone get as much attention just being a drivers agent.

Good luck to your son (what's his role btw) and the Lotus (cough) Renault team!!!!
