What does it mean when I see stage 1 or 2 turbo or chip or ecu or weight reduction. How do you determine what "stage" something is and what does it mean? Curious. Thanks.

 

There's no real standard to the stages. They all vary depending on the vendor and what you're upgrading. Thus the confusion. The only real consistency to stages is that they are sensible steps along the performance increase path, as well as the idea that things included in a stage work well together.

There are various kinds of staged upgrades. Horsepower, brakes, handling, each one usually has its own stages.

 

How would you classify weight reductions? Going by Forza Motorsport, I guess I have a Stage 2 weght reduction.
