Default Debadging

I was told by someone today that I would not be able to run DS because I have debadged by xfire. This is a joke....right? If it is a rule...is it enforced?

My Karmen wants to know....

Supposedly if you run stock class your car cannot be debadged. This was told to me by someone who owns a WRX and does not like me for some reason . I have not been shown the info but was told if I dig..I will find it in SCCA rules.

Did not know if anyone had heard this. I have not found it as of yet. I am having a hard time thinking it is true....

Seeing as it doesn't change the function of the car AT ALL, I find this a bit hard to believe.

It's not like they can mistake a Crossfire for anything else.

2011 SCCA Rules:
14. STREET TOURING CATEGORY
14.1 AUTHORIZED MODIFICATIONS
All Solo Rules Stock Category allowances, plus all allowances contained
in 14.1 through 14.10.
14.2 BODYWORK
A. Pedal kits ...
B. The driver and front passenger seats ...
C. Factory rub strips, emblems, mud flaps
, bolt-on front valance lips/
spoilers, and fog lights (except those integral to a headlight or turn

signal)
may be removed.

Implication is that in stock, you can't, but I didn't find it directly. ST isn't a bad class to run in, and depending on what you are using for tires, might even be a better class.
Good luck.
Mike

Here we go.....I have been told I would not want to stay in stock class....but this is not what I thought would be the reason!! I am just a Novice who has not even killed an orange cone yet, so maybe no one will care.

I would be half inclined to register in Stock, and make them kick you out. Most autocross-ers are a pretty good lot. Don't declare it "de-badged" and just have fun.

Thanks Mike,

The club I joined seems like a real good group. I have jokingly refered to my xfire as "son of a minivan". It brings chuckles but we all know our cars are far from Chrysler!!

I will register DS but will do whatever, as I am after the fun factor.

Mark

P.S. It still says Chrysler on the steering wheel!!!
