Yet another autocross hitch thread
Looking at some of the other posts, installing a hitch was not that difficult. The tongue weight will be less than 50 lbs, and I can stand (and bounce) on it. Two 6" receiver tubes with hardware added just under 10 lbs to race weight.

Most of what MJPowers did to install his hitch was the same as when I installed mine, except that I did not remove the rear bumpe cover. For CJ 's hitch install, we only removed the left and right carpeted panels, the foam trunk boxes and the two air foils under the car, nothing else. It takes some negotiation between the hard foam trunk boxes and the rear panel, but it can be done.
The upper trunk cream panels are a pain in the butt to remove and even more so to reinstall without falling and rattles. I used velcro around the holes at each clip point to add rigidity and eliminate squeaks when I put mine back together the third time.

First event is on Apr 22nd at KilKare. We usually get there before 9:00 to prep and walk the track. First car off around 11:00. We've got about 20 events scheduled this summer, with 3 scheduled at the old Wilmington Airport which may be a little closer to you. I'll send you a PM with the full schedule.
