Default SRT-6 vs. M6

From the 1/2-mile event, mentioned in this thread:

https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...anna-join.html

This is the video of my run against the M6. I honestly figured it would be MUCH closer, as he had an aftermarket exhaust and the M6 is no joke, even in stock form.

http://vimeo.com/50145248

Driver was a great guy, as were the rest of the drivers there that day. Out of 120 drivers, Anthony only managed to find one ***** in a 997 Porsche

Give us some more elaborate details on the race. Did he mess up? Did you have wheel spin? Was it from a rolling? etc. This is G R E A T !

FUBU, I want to say I remember him telling me it was a 2008-2009 M6... So, a factory 500-horsepower V10. I don't know the extent of the exhaust mods were, but the tips weren't factory and it was a bit louder. That's all the specifics I have on his mods. BMW claims a 4.1 0-60 with the factory power levels, but I have always heard that the V10 really came into its prime in 3rd gear and up.

As for the race itself, we both launched from a dig. As was the case all day, traction was minimal on the non-prepped runway concrete. Both of us spun through first, but I hooked at the top of first and then it was a sprint to the finish line.

I can't imagine him messing up the shifts, as his M6 was the auto/SMG. Therefore, we both had the same task at hand -- mash & go. No left foot to blame here...

Great video...not the shaky camera part, just the part where you thumped the M6

Thats awesome John, all the hype you usually hear on the M6 usually says its no joke, but power to weight is probably its weakness being that the SRT is all about it.

That scenery is beautiful too. You guys have it made... 1/2 mi events, trees/grass, no/minimal smog

I wish!!! If I could, I would without skipping a beat. My step sister lived in Clarksville and asside from the spiders, that I swear have never been claimed known, it was just amazing. The humidity was a huge negative but the east makes up for it in everything else. My soon to be wife and I will be making trips out there come 2014, mainly for the dragon, but also for making some touring stops on the way being that its a couple thousand miles just to get there. We were hoping this next year but we have some debt we would like to eliminate first.

A twenty year old worried about debt ! That is refreshing to read.

You did put a whooping on that M3 that was talking smack.

BTW, I saw your text to record the video about an hour after you ran... It was so loud down there, I never heard the text come through.

I REALLY hope someone got the vid of me and you running, that was insanely close.

It happens when you have a wife, bike, 2 cars, house and 2 kids. lol And its not necassarily a worry, our game plan is to have everything including our house paid off in 6 years.

Mark (Pizza) yanks so many chains, you'd think he builds grandfather clocks for a living.

I'm with him though, I think it's awesome that you have a focused attack on debt. Keep up the great work buddy.

Should you make the Dragon run, I won't front the $5K but I'll buy you a six pack.

Its hard on one income but Ive been on my own for 4 years in November so managing bills is second nature at this point. I took the Financial Peace University classes here in my home town too. That Dave Ramsey is very inspirational and convincing.

I was a little disappointed about not a having a video of the BMW run, but you were busy and it was LOUD.

I was lucky with the M3, as he told me he'd trapped 152 before, and 140's that day. I think he trapped in the mid 140's in his race with me. He was a really nice guy, as were most that day (except the Porsche d0uche.).

By the way, I heard the DA was almost a mile high. Not bad for running in mountain air.
