Autocrossing in the rain on Michelin PS2s
Well, Hurricane Charley was gone but we still had rain yesterday. It was an experience to say the least... ... There were puddles of standing water, about 1/2" deep all over the course. I have to say that even with 11k on my PS2s that they did remarkably well.
The fronts grabbed very nicely, but you really had to be very smooth with the throttle off the corners or the rear end would break loose and try to come around. It made for some slower times... But man was that fun.
I'll post the results as soon as they are up on the TSCC (Tidewater Sports Car Club) web site. It was a very long course with only 2 cars running it in under 1 minute. My best time was 1:05.XXX and my worst (1st run on a really soaked course) was 1:15.XXX I think the FTD (Fast Time of the Day) was turned in by a Honda Civic...... It was not a course for hp for sure! Even the Miatas were having a tough time keeping the rear wheels from trying to pass the fronts.
I'm so happy I ordered the PS2's with my new rims! That post just made me even more excited to test them out!
Great job btw WM on the race! Gotta love the civics!!!
Let us know when the videos are posted!!!
