Default Autocross run

First event of 2013. The NA Crossfire is in "E" class using the NASA ratings stock, but with the NeedsWings CAI, Eurocharged tune, larger throttlebody and Hoosier A6s, I'm up in D. We had 73 entries, and I finished 1st in D (2nd place car was almost 2 seconds slower), 12th overall, and 5th after PAX handicap. I beat all the cars except 1 in C class ahead of me, but he only beat me by 1/100th sec.

The Crossfire is a sleeper in autocross.

What exhaust are you running? That is the sound I am after. Sounds like stock only louder and a bit meaner.

I had a muffler shop custom fabricate a stainless steel straight pipe that I can put on & take off in about 10 minutes. There are three bolts at the flange behind the Y-pipe after the second set of cats. There is a hanger about halfway back, and 2 AMG rubber mounts just above the stock muffler tips.

RE: Les: "What was that girly shift doing in there at the end of the run?"

No excuses. Yes, it was very tentative. This was the first event of the season, first run. Our group was in the second heat, and I listened to a lot of the faster cars in the first heat hitting their rev-limiter, so I knew I would be getting to third. Long story short: in past races, from second gear I have hit first before . . . and fifth. Neither is a good thing, and both were memorable. To top it off, it was my youngest son in the car, and I wanted to make sure I made it to third, or I never would have heard the end of it!

Looks like fun!
It seems like the Crossfire works great for autocross (because of the short wheelbase?).

All those cones looked confusing though - I'll stick to the track.

Makes me want to come over for an event, and maybe stay the night to see your exhaust guy, I like the idea

Let me know if there are any night events, I would try to make it over for one of those for sure.
