Default Car and Driver Race Series

I'm thinking about doing this at the Silverdome next week: Car and Driver Race Series

Has anyone else done it, or is anyone planning to do one of them this summer?

I guess I want to know if it is worth the $99. Also, for the acceleration run, what's the best way to launch with a stock 6-speed?

What does everyone think?

Any info is appreciated.

I've never seen it before, looks like it would be fun. Traction control off, air off, drop the clutch at 3500 and be ready to pop 2nd as soon as you hit 5800 rpm. Leave your foot on the floor when you shift. The chip won't let you hurt the engine. You should only need 2nd in a 100 yard run. Good luck.

Exactly, I don't know how the traction control works with the 6 speed, but try not to spin the tires on the launch. It will totally kill you on time. On the Auto stick, the car won't let you spin the tires. Even when traction control is off the car will still take over. Which totally sucks if you want to power slide any turns. I would like to see Mercedes give some of the control back to the driver.
