Default Rocket Fuel

For those of you who haven't heard of this before... I was surprised, thought it was well known... It is in the racer community...

Rocket Fuel: 10 gallons of 93 octane pump gas, 3 gallons of Toluene, 3 oz. Marvel Mystery Oil. Hold on to your pants...

Or you can try Klotz COXOC... Here's a link http://www.motorsportsracingfuels.co...Additives.html

MAKE YOUR OWN OCTANE BOOSTER FOR LESS THAN £3 A BOTTLE!!!

How to make your own octane booster (this is the basic formula of one of the popular octane booster products). To make eight 16 ounce bottles (160 oz = 1 UK gal):

125 fl oz of Toluene for octane boost

31 fl oz of mineral spirits (cleaning agent)
4 fl oz of transmission fluid (lubricating agent)

This product is advertised as "octane booster with cleaning agent *and* lubricating agent!".
Diesel fuel or kerosene can be substituted for mineral spirits and light turbine oil can be substituted for transmission fluid. Color can be added with petroleum dyes.

Who want to put that in a Crossfire - might be good in my old Toyota Pickup though.

BlackSRT: Honestly, we only use it as an octane booster. If you really want PROVEN power in a can, Buy some Klotz Coxoc and then go take some timed 1/4's... But do not use Toluene with Coxoc... Most Toluene now has methane in it, and it doesn't like Coxoc, or vice versa...

I'll bet you shave a second off your 1/4's...

You think it will help being stock? I know it will help you a ton, I wish I had your money. You should hit the drag strip some time and see what that thing will do in the 1/4.

It's the ONLY fuel additive that I have found that will actually increase HP and has not been de-bunked as some sort of basic octane booster. It has been banned from most, if not all sanctioned racing events because it allegedly give the user an unfair advantage over those using standard racing gas. Do your own research, and then try it... I always keep a 5 gal. can in my garage for race weekends...

As far as me doing a 1/4 mile... That will be the day... You know I think drags are silly with a Crossfire... I prefer road courses... Will be driving one this weekend... Spring Mountain Motor Raceway in NV. Pictures and video when I return...

I just want you to do it so we can all know if the retunes are worth the money, and it seems that you are about the only one with it that runs your car that has the retune. I know you're not really in to it but I think alot of people on here would like to know if is worth it and would be grateful for it. Because there is no way I'm paying that much money if its only going to shave a tenth or two, now if you bust out a low 14 @ about 100 mph corrected, then alot of people will be jumping on them.

Tell you what... I'll try and get a 1/4 mile time this weekend while I'm at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park in NV. They do have a .35 mile straightaway on the new track configuration. Maybe I can do a few runs while we break for lunch, but I don't think so... Anyway I don't think it'll be a fair assessment of the chip because of the dual air intake and the fact that I run Klotz Coxoc in the tank during events. But, I'll try.

I think I got the formula down pretty good... I'll be running at Willow Springs on Sunday with it... Here ya go... 1/2 gal. 100% Toluene, 1/2 gal. 100% Xylene, 1 pint Dioxane, 2 oz. Marvel Mystery Oil, 8 gal. 91 octane gasoline...

Beware of the Dioxane, it is listed as a Class 1 Carcinogen... Wear proper protective devices when mixing this concoction as it is VERY BAD FOR YOUR HEALTH!!! But makes your car go fast as sh*t...

Well, if you know how to handle toxic chemicals...

It's really the Dioxane that is the BAD one... the Xylene and Toluene are basically paint solvents... You can't buy Dioxane unless you have a special permit or can prove a legitimate use... The other stuff is available at your local hardware store.

Bortz makes the 100% Toluene and Xylene... These are only used as octane boosters... Toluene has an octane level of 122 +/- and Xylene is somewhere around 115 octane... So, mixed with regular pump gas of 91 octane, it increases the octane level on a mathematical basis...

The Dioxane is an oxygenater. It literally adds 02 into the fuel mixture and makes the fuel go POOF much better... But, it's a carcinogen and is absorbed through the skin if it's spilled on you... I always wear a mask & gloves when concocting the mixture...

The Marvel Mystery Oil is used as a lubricating / cleaning agent for the cylinders, heads, carbon deposits etc... It's been used for years mixed with aviation fuel to keep the cylinder heads clean...
