SCCA Classes Crossfire for 2006
For those of you interested, we've gotten one step further with the SCCA for classing the Crossfire for 2006. They have put the car in T3 class (Touring 3). I'll see if I can attach the pdf. of the list of other cars it will be competing against in club racing.
We're still trying to get it classed in GT3, but probably won't be able to get the specifications and board approval done until the end of the year. I'll see if I can attach the pdf. of the list of other cars it will be competing against in club racing.

you can find out more at http://www.scca.org
Unfortunately the rules for T3 preclude most of the modifications I have done to the car, so it does me no good for the 2006 season. I guess I'll be prevented from running for points again this year. The rules allow for very basic mods., so for those of you who have a stock vehicle this will work for you...

Just out of curiosity, what would "very basic mods" consist of - tire swap in the stock size, brake pad swap, etc?
For anyone with a totally stock car, I assume there would be nothing that would preclude removing unnecessary stuff before the race. For instance, I would want to pull the passenger seat, get rid of the tire repair stuff from the trunk, drain the windshield washer bottle, and look for other simple, easy to access opportunities for weight reduction. If the car's mission in life was only to race, I would also pull all of the interior trim, ditch the AC, pull the stereo and all speakers, replace the seat with a one-piece racing bucket, etc.
