There is or was a BBQ joint on the corner just before you go over the river (going south) but I don't remember the name. Here is the city of Gruene web page : Eat in Gruene it does not list a BBQ place.

 

Yes, it's east of the river bridge on Loop 337; east of the river bridge; across the street from the Harley-Davidson dealer down about a block; near Billy's Ice. It's set back with a huge parking lot in the front.

The route we take to get to Cooper's as a group? We usually start our GTGs on a road trip and the eatery is the final destination.

 

Count me in, but I hope every one realizes the 14th is Valentine's day. I called Cooper's in New Braunfels and they will be open 11:00 AM
As Bill says, not much of a drive from 3009 to Coopers. If it's an eat first and drive after, we could do the river road?? Discussion?
From where I live, I would go directly to Coopers from home.
