Reading through the thread, it seems people from Houston want to meet somewhere West. Why don't we meet up in Hempstead. If we get together further East we will get seperated by traffic anyway. Who knows of a landmark in Hempstead that we can meet at?

 

I thought the plan was to go I-10? Going 290 is a longer drive, at least for me. Either way we need to make a decision soon. There are some gas stations at the 290 and hwy 6 (College Station) exit. I can't google earth at work so I don't know the names.

 

A suggestion. I don't know my way around, but I checked a map for Hempstead. If you are taking the old 290 going into Hempstead, at 290/ Austin St. and 290/10th St. on the left there is a McDonald's. There is a Valero on the opposite corner.

 

He got a black 06 base model.

 

I was wrong. Hwy 6 is the Lawrence Marshall dealership that closed, "clobber big-city prices." There is a McDonalds at 290 & FM 1488. We can meet there if we go 290.

Ok, time's running out. We're meeting at the McDonalds in Hempstead. It's far enough out of town where traffic won't be an issue. The address for those with Navi 2100 FM 1488 Road, Hempstead, TX 77445. Hempstead is about 1/2 hour up 290 from the beltway.

WATCH FOR THE HEMPSTEAD EXIT!
290 curves to the right and over a hill and the exit is RIGHT THERE. There's an Exxon fueling station next door by the freeway.

Let's figure about 9:30 give or take. It's an 1.15 from Hempstead to La Grange and maybe another 10-15 minutes to Murphy's.

The weather so far: Partly cloudy and mid-70's. A very nice day. Let's go!

I've noticed a number of Crossfire owners in our neck of the woods and the Houston area have shown no interest in coming to a GTG. What has happened, lose interest in your Crossfire or just anti-social? These GTG's are put together for you. It is not often that we here in Central Texas and those from Eastern Texas GTG. Let's do this!

Lake Fayette Loop- 36 Miles stopping somewhere along the lake for photo ops and some more socializing. Finish the loop or anything else we decide and vanish. We need to get a good count who is going so we can notify the restaurant in advance, so please respond by at least Wednesday the 7th.

FM 153 is in good condition according to what I Googled. If someone has a better meeting spot in San Marcos, please post.

Okay everyone, I've notified Murphy's Steakhouse that there would be 25-30 of us arriving between 11:30 and 12:00 this Saturday April 10.

 

Okay... I will join you guys this time for sure. I will leave for San Marcos Friday evening and join you guys at the Dairy Queen on Saturday.... It will be awesome

 

WOW! This is a lot of cars. Is it a record for Texas?

And the stealership fixed my car today and guess what...total charge $100. Amazing!
It usually costs more than that for them to write up a work order.
