He is also a DFWXfires member (107. eeric - Dallas CTC & DFWXfires) so being he is coming from DFW I couldn't put him on the CTC list and leave texas t all alone. If he came by himself then he would be on the CTC list. The count wouldn't be right if I put him on both lists. So I had to make an executive decision (HMFIC), that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Let's figure about 9:30 give or take. It's an 1.15 from Hempstead to La Grange and maybe another 10-15 minutes to Murphy's.
The weather so far: Partly cloudy and mid-70's. A very nice day. Let's go!

Took the 'Maybe' off of Burkerust and also have a special guest appearance, My Dad who was original owner of my 2004 coupe will bring up the rear and deflect any smokey bears by bringing his 2010 Camaro LT2 3.6 six. Hope that's ok with the group, he never got to make any xfire GTGs when he owned her. We will meet at micky d's in Hempstead @ 9:30.

My regrets to the group.

I'll be in New Ulm with our Morgan club the weekend of the 9 - 11 April. We were totally unawares that the 2nd Sunday was so early in the month and we'd have a conflicting schedule.

CTC April GTG Bluebonnet - 03-18-2010 , 08:58 AM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Central Texas Crossfires
Bluebonnets
GTG

Ah, the serendipity of bluebonnets

The Trail of Texas Bluebonnets which I believe in our neck of the woods would be around late March to early April. Could this be the beginning of a discussion at the March GTG for the April GTG.

The article in Texas Highways shows routes near Amarillo (Llano Estacado), Beaumont (Upper Coast), Brackettville (Nueces River Valley) and Lampasas (Heart of the Hill Country). Two of these areas might be within striking distance of us:

Nueces River Valley and Garner State Park
* Route ~180 miles / ~4 hours = Concan -> Garner State Park via -> #83 to Leakey -> #337 to Camp Wood -> 334 to Brackettville & Fort Clark Springs -> #674 to Rocksprings -> to #55 to Camp Wood
* Area Information: Camp Wood, Brackettville, , Fort Clark Springs (830-563-2494) and Rocksprings (830-683-3181)

Heart of the Hill Country and Inks Lake State Park
* Route ~125 miles / ~2 1/2 hours = Burnet -> #29 to LLano (Coopers BBQ?) -> #16 to San Saba -> #580 to Bend -> #580 to Lampasas -> #281 to Burnet.
* Area Information: Burnet (512-756-4297), Llano (325-247-5354), San Saba (325-372-5144) and Lampasas (512-556-5172).

Whadda ya think?

I may not have ended up where I intended to go,
but I know I've ended up where I'm intended to be.

I'm totally knowing the weekend of the Morgan club meet and not the Crossfire meet weekend. It was early in the month for both the 2nd weekend.
