Glen , have you been to Grampy's Rest? I read a few reviews and was not impressed. What do you think? Is there another place we could go that you know? Reviews may be unfounded, but I always wonder.
Were you able to find the name or the place at "Oldtown Spring"?

 

We went to Grampy's last year. It is OK. Service was slow, food was bar fare and prices were reasonable. I did not go to Old Town yet. I will get there in the next day or so. There is a large Ice House on Lake Conroe as well called Papas.

Alot of the guys sound like they would rather do lunch, then cruise around the lake to a park, take some pics. Then some can leave and go home while others can go on to watch the sunset. We could do lunch at Old Town Spring and finish at Gramp's or Papas. Let me know what you think.

 

Lunch is fine but unless we get at least 4 cars, we probably should pass.

Sounds like we have four cars. I'm still in, so map out when and where on the 19th.

 

OK. Here we go. Let's meet at Wunshe Bros. Cafe and Saloon in Old Town Spring at 11:30 AM. Here is their website if you want to check them out.

From there, we will depart and drive the following route:

• Spring Stuebner Rd. to Gosling Rd North.
• Gosling to 242 West
• 242 to FM 1488 W
• FM1488 to Honea-Egypt Rd. North
• Honea Egypt Rd to FM 2854 West
• FM 2854 West to Keenan Cut-Off Rd
• Keenan Cut-off to FM 149 North
• FM149 to FM 1097 across the Lake.

At this point we can make a stop at Grampy's for refreshments and people can depart from there. I-45 is a few miles further East on 1097 and people can pick that up to head home.

Yep I'm in. The plan sounds good. I just have to switch my days off but that shouldn't be a problem. Cyall there.

Glad you can come, we need to get more people to attend these GTG. I see lots of XF in Houston. We need to get some cards printed with a logo on them that tells about the club and give them to people or put them on XFs when we see them. We have a lot of members here in Houston. I'm going to try and build a data base and contact everyone as soon as I get passed my medical problems, which I hope is soon.

Houston, we now have 5 cars which is near the high end for Houston Xfires without our friends in Central TX. C'mon let's get a few more cars to join. It is a fun time for all ages.
