Default Chateau Elan Trip - 07/25-26/09

Roberta & I spent the weekend at Chateau Elan Resort & Winery just north of Atlanta in Braselton, GA. Truly a fabulous facility and somewhat reasonable. We took in one the summer concerts (TAMS) that are offered during the season. Turns out Roberta & I aren't the only "baby boomers" that were into "****'" music from the early 60's. We really had a great time. Weekend getaways are needed by everyone, once in awhile.

Drove the XRfire Coupe down. Trip was only 2 hrs, which was nice. It was fun to see the Valets scramble when we drove up. We overheard a couple of them say they wanted to drive that car as one of the Valets drove off to the appropriate parking lot. Crossfires are rare and still grab attention when they show up somewhere.

The other perk during the weekend was the appearance of other performance marques; some of them exotic. I posted some pic's of a Nissan GTR that showed up. First time I'd seen one up close. Talked to the owner. He was down for a track weekend event at nearby Road Atlanta. Imagine pushing that car to its limits! We also saw Ferrari's, Lambo's, the usual array of Porsche 911's, a couple of Panoz Esperantes, a new 2010 Shelby Mustang & a new Jag XK Coupe.

For those that don't know, Dan Panoz owns Chateau Elan, along with Road Atlanta, and still sells the Panoz Esperante performance car line.
