What happened?
Many of the pioneers have moved on for one. I get a feeling that many people post in the CICCI portion where you have to be a member. I always felt it would gut the free portion. Plus, theres very little new happening for our Crossfires. I'll be here as long as I have my car and post when I have something of value to say.

That place is like a morgue.
We need to go there and liven it up. MrMiata should be given a thread to write and post to daily, a featured columnist so to speak. Raise a few hackles.
CICCI has become the stomping ground of a small clique that has left .org for their own small club. They only come here for answers and $$ to fund their club. Without the $$ it will go the way of .net.
If any of them PM me I will post it here. I have had PMs about my CICCI comments before.
Still seems busy to me, but the posts are different from 2008. At that time the cars were still considered new and owners were still discovering new things. Lately it seems we have more new owners of older high mileage cars that are joining to ask for help on problems. Hopefully, after getting help with their problem, they will continue to participate and contribute.

What gave you that idea?

On the other hand, it's true that Facebook, for better or worse, is killing lots of forums.

What gave me the idea was Needswings. When they developed their heads and did lots of porting they posted in the CICCI portion where I couldn't see them. If I'm confused, I'm confused. But those pictures were never seen on the open forum.

The CICCI forum is a dud, I was not going to rejoin this year and doubt I will next year. My renewal notice went unnoticed, later I realized I had not paid and I was going to leave it at that. I then got a notice that I was in arrears and paid after some thought.
Companies etc with a mission statement I view suspiciously, as what is always stated is what people expect them to be doing anyway. They forget that they should do a good job in the first place.
Someone, anybody, please save us from such BS.
As a new owner, this forum was a godsend to me. We also seem able to rally lots of participation in promoting votes for dragtimes.com ...I actually like the high signal to noise ratio "this works/this doesn't" found here. I do miss Franc R's joke postings!!
A CAR CLUB has it's place.... CICCI is a good car club. It has it's own forum. Any one can join or not join. This is a public forum for the most part. You don't have to own a XF to post here.... You can own one and just badger the hell out of everyone and never drive the damn thing if you want to. Some do.... Of, you can get help with your problems. You can get told to go fly a kite.... or kiss my.....well, you get the picture.... It's a forum.... I lurk on the MB Forum, but I do own an MB now, so I don't feel bad lurking there now... Jalopnic, is another I like, if I spelled that right.... SRT-6 is another.... But, I have to agree although I don't post there anymore, many are on facebook...
I;m here everyday checking out new post , Facebook thing seem to have a lot drama from time to time ,not into that much , for a lot of us that have been around for along time it just repeat stuff that kind get to you ,but do my best to try help out when needed ,
Well, I have to agree that the Forum has changed. Many members have sold their cars and don't post anymore. I suppose I'll be here until i croak. I love the car, wish I was in better condition to do mods, but that's the way it is. I still like to help others with what I can help with and point them, at least in the proper direction to find a solution to their problem.
Judging from the view count o this thread (195 since started on 6/13), I'd say there is still a good amount of traffic on this forum. I have to add that I a a new owner/member here having purchased my car in April 2013. Although I don't post as much as some of the other regulars here, I try to check the forum at least daily and add to the conversation where and when I can. Many members have helped me out over the last year with answers to questions/problems, and my wife and I enjoyed the entire weekend at the spring dragon, (our first and not last!) GTG.
The forum seems, to me, a little slow...this could be to varying reasons... this is the start of summer and here in Myrtle Beach, the tourists are beginning to come in (thank goodness),,,people could be busier with jobs, etc. Anyway, the forum has been a godsend for me...I've really "gotten into" my Crossfire since joining and the wealth of expert/willingly given advice/information/ideas is one of it's great qualities.. The other immeasurable quality is the attitude and gregariousness of the people therein...Thanks everyone for the "ride"...Carl
And yes, 180, I think Mrmiata should have his own forum...
