Default Check Engine Light--Windshield Fluid related

Hello All,

I'm getting a check engine light on one of my '04 Crossfires that seems to be related to the windshield washer fluid. The first time it came on the windshield fluid light was on also, filled the fluid some and both went out. Now just the check engine light comes on but if I fill the windshield fluid some, the check engine light goes out after the car is started or key is turned to the on position once. The second time the car is started the check engine light will be off.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks to all in advance!

Bo

Wow, that's strange. The best thing to do would be to go to a dealer and ask them to read the fault codes for you. Even when the CEL is off the car's computer stores a history until it is reset. You can also try an auto parts store -- some (AutoZone, I believe) will read fault codes and do other minor checks for free.

That is strange... You may want to try to disconnect the negative battery terminal for 20 minutes, see if it blows-out the codes.

~ i tried that trick on the X5 and no go... however... i did stop by AutoZone as mentioned above and they did reset the light at no charge.
