Crossfire spoiler activation
Hey members. I'm new to this crossfire forum but I find it very informative. I've been reading many threads but I have a question that maybe someone with more experience can answer.
Does anyone know exactly how and what makes the crossfires spoiler work? I need information on both the actuator and the electrical system.
If anyone knows of any websites that I can get information from about this please post the link. I'll be more than happy to read it myself.

Thanks for responding. I'm looking for specs on the system. Specs on the type of motor used, the arms that raise the spoiler. I know somebody out there has some information. Maybe even a website they could point me to. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
just being nosey, but why?
the motor is actuated on speed, up at 65, down just below 40 (39 maybe?) -- there was a change in design early on; i believe some members' spoilers go up at 50 or 60.

Specs I'm not sure what you are looking for.
There is a service manual around this forum somewhere you can download.
I also remember seeing a tsb that had detailed drawing to service it.

I'd rather see the spoiler deactivated. I think it looks cheesy when up, same on the 993 Porsche's. I'd rather see an integrated style in the fixed up position, but not as conspicuous or big as on the SRT.
Just pulled mine out of the car to replace it with a new (600 lb down force) track wing and am having some custom brackets built as we speak.
The wing is activated / de-activated through the front wheel speed sensor circuit. Motor is located inside the rear of the hatch and drives a long shaft that connects to each aperture hinge on either side of the wing. I don't know exactly what you want to do, but it is not an easy thing to get at without tearing your entire hatch apart.
You can completely disable it in the up or down position if you want. Start the car, push the up button to extend the wing, disconnect the appropriate fuse in the fuse box. This will keep the wing in the up position, conversely for the permanent down position.
Be aware, that the wing produces over 100 lbs of down force at 100 mph and if you keep it in the down position, the rear end will start to float at high speeds.

New to this forum but have a spoiler question.
I seem to have an issue with my spoiler as sometimes it just decides to activate when I start the car. The little red light flashes and I am unable to close it or even use the control button on the center console. If I turn off the car and turn it back on then I can control the spoiler. I have taken it to the dealership twice and they seem to think it functions normally and dont understand the issue. Any good thoughts?

Mine has done that a couple of times, but has continued to operate normally after a restart. Don't know what has caused it, but haven't worried too much about it...figured it may have just been a surge that put it into some sort of fail-safe mode or something. I almost forgot about it as it has been quite some time since it occurred.
