Default Steering wheel locked key will not turn

I have a problem with starting my Crossfire. The key will turn a little then it hits a dead end. I wiggle the steering wheel and pull it in and out, which usually works, but it will not wiggle past to the start position. I have the lower dash disassembled. I tried to disassemble the ignition switch from the steering lock and cannot get it to separate, any ideas.
I pulled the park/interlock cable off and it seems to be a magnetic switch without mechanical parts. So it must be the ignition key or the steering locking subassembly, but I cannot figure which one.
I am a poet on a poetic budget and a dealer is thirty miles or more away, so I must try to start it rather than pay for a towing. I would like to fix it since a dealer would charge gold plated prices. I am stuck in Florida at Panama Beach writing my dreams with my sweetheart Crossfire licensed POETS.

I had the same problem. The ignition housing is the problem. This is covered under the warranty, provided your warranty has not expired.

This is a problem I ignored for a while about 6 months ago. Normally I could wiggle it and it would turn. Well, eventually it simply refused. I tried for 30 mins or so, even added WD40 (which I had in my trunk this having happened before).

Well, as always it was at the worst time. I called the DC Roadside assistance and they showed up. The wheels were locked and not straight so they had to bring in another tow truck that could lift the car rather than pull it. I left them alone (in retrospect that wasn't very smart). Eventually they get it lifted and to the dealership. The next problem was how to get it off the truck and into a bay. I didn't get to see it, but the dealer told me they used some sort of industrial lubricant and pulled/pushed the car into a bay.

The fix in the end was to replace the whole key/ignition cylinder and it's been great since then.

I assume it was because the wheel wasn't straight so they'd be pushing it in a circle. But at least in my case I have 3 keys and all of them wouldn't turn the ignition (and boy did I try, I got a blister on my finger from trying to turn it, it would turn a little but not much).
