Default ARGGG - Removing standard shift ****

i want to replace my stock shift **** (for a standard) with a momo shift ****... only problem is that i can't get the stock one off. i unattached the leather boot and then pushed it up to reveal the cone-shaped nut underneath, i unscrewed it as much as it would go and then pulled on the ****. i've tried it four times already -- if i pull any harder i'll break the whole thing.

any ideas?

JUST yank the sucker off, there is nothing else holding it in after you remove the nut.

when you yank it, the "underneath junk" pulls up with it... i don't want to rip that all out... i'm pulling pretty damn hard...

If you ever get it out and replaced, post a picture (and part number for the new ****). I'm not impressed with the OEM piece of plastic, but haven't found anything else yet.

i decided to purchase an 04' m/b slk automatic black leather shift ****. this **** is classy and looks as if it belong there imo. it also, fit as the crossfire stock **** does...height and all. see my gallery for more pics.

m/b part # A 170 267 10 10 9C05 (called a: handle)

The leather does look classy Andrew, looks right at home in your car. I personally like the looks and feel of the original one on my 6 speed, enough so that I bought 2 more (the promotional salt and pepper shakers that were on E-Bay).
