Default Eaton superchargers?

I was approached by a guy recently who works for Eaton components out of Southfield, MI. He said he is developing an aftermarket supercharger specifically for the Crossfire. The company does make a lot of automotive and aerospace components. Anybody have any information on an Eaton supercharger?

If memory serves me, Eaton makes the SC for the SRT6 / AMG engine... And is installed at the factory... Having them make an aftermarket product is really not much of the issue, it's getting the electronics to run the engine properly...

Greetings,

Eaton is an OEM supplier of positive displacement roots type superchargers for a number of manufacturers. Their units are quiet, reliable and durable.
I previously owned a Ford Thunderbird "SuperCoupe" with a 3.8 V6 and an Eaton supercharger. The Eaton units often outlasted the engines they were bolted to. 100-150K mile lifespans are common with Eaton blowers. The engine control units are the issue. The aftermarket has totally "cracked the code" of the FoMoCo ECUs. Our Bosch units are more of an enigma...

I think thats the same supercharger used on SRT6 is also used on some Buick FWD cars, with maybe some changes to the housing of course. There are a ton of pullies made for the Buick and Pontiacs which I wouldn't be shocked if they interchanged too. Being GM aftermarket parts they sell considerably cheaper than EVO or SI offers. The only question is do the belts match up on the grooves.

Thumbs up Re: Eaton superchargers?

The Jackson Racing kit in my '97 Prelude was based on an Eaton blower. It worked great. It had almost 100k miles on it (200k miles on the engine) and was still going strong when I sold the car to get my Crossfire. Personally I would love to see an aftermarket blower kit for the non SRT Crossfire. If they keep the price in the $2k - $3k range they will sell a bunch of them. One of which will go into my car.

I won't claim to have any tech knowledge whatsoever. This guy said Chrysler(Daimler) just released the 3-d schematics of the engine to Eaton so they could start working on this new supercharger. Then he alluded to the fact that he might have something for me to "try out" on my XF down the road. Can you say T&E?

I had an M45 Eaton Blower on my '99 Miata. I ran 6 psi and it was good for an additional 60 rwhp. I had the car dynoed before and after so it was a factual increase. It had pretty good drivability with just a little idle droop coming to a stop when cold. It was a Jackson Racing kit, ok quality and used a "black box" to fool the ecu into thinking it was 50 below to get the needed fuel. Also came with a cam angle adjustment bracket to pull out enough timing so the thing wouldn't ping like crazy. I could run with S2000's at the track with it.
