Angry Liftgate not locking

I just discovered the rear liftgate does not appear to be locking on my 2004. I found out because I instinctively went to open it when returning to my parked car and got hit with the alarm. I then checked and have determined that there appears to be no mechanical activity at the liftgate when I lock the car. Good news is that, obviously, the alarm senses that it's locked.

I do believe there was a recall on all '04 model crossfires. They replaced the liftgate latch I do believe. Give me a minute and I can give you more info.

The vacuum line going to the lock is probably the cause. There is a TSB to fix it.

Problem solved!! After being informed there was a TSB and checking the service manual, I realized that the sound of compressed air that I was hearing whenever the locks engage was the problem. I found a break in the yellow vacuum hose that runs to the liftgate lock inside the rubber housing at the upper right corner of the liftgate. I was able to fit a piece of tubing over each end and I now have a functioning hatch lock!! Thanks for the help.

The fix has worked fine. I was fortunate that the leak was in an area of the hose that could be relatively easily accessed. You may be able to pinpoint the location by the sound. Again, rather than replacing the whole hose, I just found a piece of tubing I had around that snugly over each end after I cut the cracked hose. GOOD LUCK.

I appreciate the help! I went to the dealer and they put shrink wrap on it for a short fix...
