Default Crossfire Tuner Forum

Just wanted to let you all know that the guys over at http://www.tunertools.com just set-up a new forum for us Crossfire / SLK320 / SLK32 owners... This site will give you access to some specialists in data logging, piggyback systems, wideband 02 sensors, ETC...

Hi Derek,

I just set up a new forum space specifically devoted to the Crossfire / SLK320 / SLK32
http://tunertools.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25
Enjoy. :-)

Brian Palmer already has PCMSCAN set up to accept an additional analog signal from the AEM 30-4100 and the Innovate Motorsports LC-1 set up. In addition, I have a new AFR meter that includes live engine RPM (not through the OBD port) so RPMs don't have that lag that the OBD information does. See this link: http://tunertools.com/proddetail.asp?prod=SP-AF-5000

I believe Brian Palmer could easily incorporate this Sniper AFR meter into PCMSCAN although I'm not so certain about getting BOTH the afr and rpms coming in... since PCMSCAN is set up to get rpms from the OBD port, it might be tricky to place that switch in there for an alternative source of RPM data.

Cheers,
Lloyd

I'm registered...

I'll start getting my laptop back out and playing around with data logging.

Here's my first basic data log using wOBD v.151 Beta found here... http://www.obd2crazy.com/. It's not being developed anymore that I can find, but it works pretty well and you can even define your own PIDs.

Just a simple capture during a drive back from my wife's family after a nice Sunday dinner.

I took quite a few measurements so my quickest polling time was 4 seconds. If you drop to maybe 4 or so it could come down to 2 seconds. Maybe faster if I can get better control of the baud rate through the ELM tool.

Cheers!

Yeah after experimenting with the system I have, the optimal baud rate was 130ms and I limited the 65 possible PID's to only 17... This only allowed a new 17 PID log to be recorded every 5 seconds... If I decreased the refresh time it would start to drop PID's... and when I decreased the # of PID's it would record a new log much quicker... The tech support guys said this is normal operating procedure...

In case anyone is interested... with an n800 from Nokia, a bluetooth compatible OBDII reader... you can use this little bit of software for some impressive information:

http://openbossa.indt.org/carman/

At least for instant information and such. And the n800 is a very useful device in its own right.

While that device looks very cool, I don't think it's supported enough with minimal tech people who are working on the software. I would wait until it has a larger forum membership and for them to clean up all the bugs. Maybe when version 2.0 is out.

Hey Hddp, did you manage to find an ECU from Bosch that will plug into the car yet?

I was at the MSD website, and I swear they are using Bosch ECU's for their aftermarket LS engine management systems, here it is: http://www.msdfuelinjection.com/crat...60MEFICrateEFI

and here is the MS3.0 system:
