Premium gas on a 2004, can it be changed?

One of the main reasons I'm not planning on keeping this thing...it doesn't handle the way I thought it would...its nose heavy, and without enough power to power steer it through...its just not good to go with my driving style. Using it as a daily driver has been okay, but its time to get two fast daily drivers.
Through New mexico...it was weird, they said the altitude let em run lesser octane ratings...I know the goat didn't really mind. I put the highest octane I could and coasted it and I got 25-28 MPG through new mexico...gotta love double overdrive.

Basically that's really the problem, it's not that nose heavy, the wheels in back are too freaken wide and it's overbearing on the front.

if you install SRT6 pistons, why not the blower too? hell if you're going that far just put in a V8.

Um I definitely don't have a problem with a V8 that's what I am used to driving. This thing is just my dd. Since this thread popped up I decided to try this and put in some mid-grade...I'm getting the same mileage I was with premium and it feels just as peppy...I know 91 to 89 is not as big a jump as 91-87 but she is running just fine.
