stoptech brakes
i have 2004 crossfire coupe non srt i m getting front big brakes but they only make rears for the srt. they told me if i use the rear kit ihave to change lower contol arms hub and bearings and maybe the struts. does anyone know if this is true. please help me out. thanks.
are you going auto cross?
The SRT set up is only $1200 from the dealer. I'm sure stop tech is going to want $2500-$3000 HDDP did the conversion and has a photo guide in his gallery.
Though I've researched it already the Limited crossfire brakes stop within exactly the same distance as the SRT6. your only gaining HEat resistance to fade, and a couple extra pounds of rotational energy to suck hp. not worth the money to convert if it's a street car. Try some braided lines from goodridge and ceramic pads or low dust pads.

I'm intrested in upgrading brakes too, perhaps these fronts would work on my 04 Coupe?

more weight=less speed
I purchased EBC "dimpled and slotted rotors, and their red-stuff ceramic pads for my '04 limited.
Braking requires slightly more pedal effort, but there is no fade, no dust, and it feels that it stops faster. I tried the EBC yellow-stuff ceramic pads as well, and they require less pedal effort than stock pads, stop better than the red-stuff slightly, but they have some dust (not as bad as the stock pads, but still).
Also on the flip side, the rotors are great when breaking hard, but when they are cold they have a "warped rotor" vibration to them.... This has seemed to have almost gone away, but it's strange that it happened in the first place. I have the exact same setup on my Touareg and it too had the same vibration for the first month, but it has gone away.
Either way, I would definately recommend upgrading the pads to the EBC's (or Rotex golds...haven't used them personally, but have driven a friends car that has them), and would say that the EBC rotors are great when warmed up... but I think for most of us, the Brembo cross-drilled rotors would be a better option, or just the slotted (non-dimpled) EBC rotors...
My 2 cents...

I now run i-Rotor slotted and drilled rotors (great banf for the buck) and the Porterfield RS4 street/track pads, ss lines, and ATE "Blue" brake fluid -- very consistent stopping, modulation, etc.
I looked at the StopTech big brake kits, can get the 332 mm 4piston one under $2k, but they don't fit in the stock wheels, and I don't like running spacers.
