Need help - Wiring problem.
I'm working on a project to set a back up camera under the rear end of the car (next the metal hook to be exact, which I tested to have a very good camera view, and the camera will be invisible from others)
Does anyone knows which is the easiest way to hook up to the 12-volts source for my camera at such location?
My plan was to lead the wire from under the car (through the open space at the metal hook) into the trunk. I removed the covers inside the trunk, but have no clue which way should I go. Thanks for your help.

Go to this thread and check some of the pictures of the BARE crossfire chassis. That should help you with 'places' to take the wires inside.
I personally would recommend using one of the 'spare' fuse positions in the underhood fuse block or tie it into the heated seat hot in the center console with a small in line fuse for the camera circuit.
Hope that helps... Cheers!

You will probably have to follow the factory wiring. Someone on the forums did something similar to power a device in the cabin, but I don't remember where he took it through.
I would check the bulkhead just inside of one of the underhood fuse boxes and see if there is a place (grommet) that you can pass a new wire through.
The other option is like I said... tap the hot on the heated seat circuit. The device you are running is probably VERY low amperage anyway, so it won't be a big load. That's what I did for my inverter.
Hope that helps... if not... check through the service manual schematics, take a picture or two and ask again... I'll try and see where you could go through, but I'm at work right now.

Yea... I guess I'm going to connect both the camera and monitor to the backup light. Hope it won't overload it.
There are 2 black and 1 brown wire to the backup light(right side), I believe the black is ground and the brown is hot. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks.

A trick you may want to use, if you have a voltmeter/multimeter, is to hook one of your leads up to a thin sewing needle. That way you can just pierce through the wire without a lot of hassle. Just be sure to re seal the hole you made with a little dab of silicone sealant!
I mean the hole in the wire.....not your finger!
