Default Sprint Booster data collection

Been reading the sight on the Sprint Booster product and have some questions for folks that are currently using it, if you don't mind.

1- Does it make a noticeable difference? (seems to have mixed reviews)
2- Are you using it along with an ECU mod, any issues?
3- Given the Crossfire adjusts to your driving habits, how does the Sprint Booster accommodate for that?
4- What is the correct version to use with a manual transmission?
5- Any data supporting the Sprint Booster effects?

Thanks

from what I've read, it does the smae thing that BMW offers in thier sports cars, when you hit the sport mode it adjust the throttle curve.

If you want your Crossfire to feel and drive like a SPORTS CAR and not a luxo cruiser then GET A SPRINT BOOSTER !!!

I got one from TVT and installed it yesterday. Shazaaaaam !

Now my car acts like it looks; quick, responsive and speedy.
I know This device does not actually add power. But what it does is allow you to instantly access the power you have. It does not effect off-idle response so parking and backing up is not a problem. But once you tip into the throttle...ZOOOOM ! I am so digging this !

Also makes rev matching on downshifts MUCH EASIER. A light tap on the pedal blips the throttle like a real sports car. I've got the Magnaflow cat-back, sounds really snarly euro-exotic now...

This is just SO COOL; get a sprint booster !

Thumbs up Re: Sprint Booster data collection

I got my Sprint Booster yesterday, thanks Anthony (TVT Design). Installed it this morning with the remove two screws and drop the dash panel method. Not the remove the gas pedal method…

I just removed the two phillips screws and loosened the under dash panel above the brake pedal. I just pushed it up a little to make some room.

Then I removed the panel on the side of the console, next to the gas pedal, just one plastic phillips ¼ turn lock screw holding on the vent piece and one regular phillips screw under the vent - holding on the panel.

With those removed, pull the panel away from vent and then straight down and the panel is removed. I just stuck my hand back there and unplugged the connector along side the gas pedal and installed the sprintbooster.
The whole job only took me 10 min tops…

The
SprintBooster works good!
It is a bit touchy though, just a little press of the gas pedal and it snaps your head back if your not careful.

The car responds now like it has a linkage instead of the granny approved throttle curve that was computer programmed from the factory.

So the "a" version is less aggresive? I'm ok with aggresive so which model then for the manual tranny?

Any discounts for members on TVT?

Hi all,

I'm glad to hear everyone is satisfied with their products. We have a few left from our initial order and don't expect them to last too long. We have 2 manual, one SRT6, and 5 autos. The distributor expects another shipment in 2-3 months, so if you want one now don't hesitate to grab one.

Check it out on our site for ordering information. These are the best prices you will find for these.

Can the Sprint Booster be removed after use returning the car to the original state?

Yes they fit on a 2004 Crossfire. I have a 2004 Auto and I have the recommended BDD451A. It is just a plug in unit that goes to a existing wire on our gas pedal. You unplug the wire that is currently attached to our gas pedal and plug the sprint booster into the gas pedal and the existing wire that you just unplugged. It's simple other that it is a little tight getting to the wire.
I don't believe it came with instructions but there are detailed instructions below and step by step photos in this link:
https://www.crossfireforum.org/galle...ry.php?cat=574

Option 1
You need to remove the throttle pedal following step below:
1. Remove the lower nut cap.
2. Remove the 10mm nut.
3. Remove the washer, a magnet helps.
4. Remove the pedal, lift the bottom pulling out and pull it out of the upper bracket.
5. Unplug the tps cable from the sensor.
6. Plug the tps cable into the
SprintBooster.
7. Plug the
SprintBooster cable into the tps sensor.
8. Reinstall the pedal assembly.
9. Go for a test drive, you WILL SMILE !!!

Option 2
This is another method of installation Remove the kick panel on the console.
This is the panel that is to the right of your foot as you sit in the car.
All you need is a Phillips screw driver!
First remove the screw on the drivers side lower console where the vent is, 1/4 turn; this is a locking screw.
Remove the second Phillips holding the lower drivers side console panel. You'll have to do a little removal manipulation of the panel, but it bends quite easily; its plastic! You may have to depress the gas pedal for clearance and temporary removal.
Note: Always take note of how things fit a feel prior to panel removal, its just a good code to follow.
Look at the top of the gas pedal and there is the plug. Squeeze the sides to release the locking mechanism on the plug. Unplug and insert the SB. Replug the plugs with the SB in line. Replace console side and screw and then the vent and screw and now you are done!

I highly recommend this for a much more responsive acceleration. It just feels faster !!!!

I understand how and why this device works, and also why the driving fun factor goes up several notches, but I read a post from Doug Payton who said his mileage will now take a big hit.

Obviously I realize new spirited driving habits will lower my mileage, but can you still drive the car "normally" and retain your decent mileage figures?

(read highway cruising at legal limits and that's 55-60 mph at best for me, I go through several radar traps EVERY SINGLE MORNING AND NIGHT during my daily commute)

Thanks
Paul

From what I read, it greatly affects acceleration when you "hit" the throttle. Assuming one doesn't want to do that, but accelerate or cruise at a normal pace, this apparently allows that too? Lastly, I posted this query in another thread re: the Max Care warranty, would the installation of such a device jeopardize the Max Care warranty on power & drive train components? I suppose one could just remove it prior to repair work.

Thank you TVT Just installed mine yesterday and mad because I didnt get to drive the car today from the snow. Makes a world of difference, a whole new car even. Even helped me suprise a solstice gxp Never even saw it coming ha ha ha. Only took me 3 or 4 minutes with taking the gas pedal off, only reason it took that long was the washer being stubborn. Wish I would have bought it sooner to be honest. Anybody that wants their crossfire to be responsive, its a must.

You still have the ability to drive mellow and not fast from the start.
It's all up to how much you press the pedal. As far as the warranty I don't believe this is an issue but don't quote me on this. Many members have the sprint booster on there car and as far as I have seen here on the forum nobody has raised any issues regarding warranty work.
