say it ain't so...
so i replaced my plugs yesterday and found some disturbing stuff... both plugs from one of my cyliders were totally oil fouled. please tell me that these cars have some common simple issues with fouling plugs! i'm gonna pull the compression and check the vacuum for flutter this weekend but i'm scared to see the results as this seems to be my luck with cars in general. and B4 you ask, no, its no long under warranty. /palmforehead

I could be wrong...
I have seen a puff of smoke from my exhaust one morning, it was sitting for a couple days and I only have 25k miles. I wonder if we will be seeing some issues sooner than 100k miles?
If you see blue smoke on start up, it's more than likely valve stems are leaking by a lil oil as the car sits. Do the compression and vaccumn tests. The stumble at idle is probably the fouled up plugs. That would be my educated guess.

haven't noticed any smoke upon startup but i'll be looking for it now. the center cylinder on the passenger side had the offending plugs. and the stumble at idle has continued even though i've now replaced the plugs. i'm crossing my fingers that its valve seals, but i'll know this weekend after i do the vacuum/compression tests.
assuming that this is a valve related issues, does anyone know weather or not theses cars have permenent valve guides or are they the removable sleeved type?
thanks for the imput guys

Are you sure it's not an ignition issue if you replaced the fouled plugs and still has a miss ? I'd recheck the plugs you just replaced.
I'm hopin it's not valve guides with yours havin 40K and mine havin 50K
