I think TVT-Designs is the agent now, they will be bringing thier tuning gear, at least that's what I thought.

tvt, you guys arent using the in motion software right? its your own special mix if i'm not mistaken... could you clarify?

 

The basic software to tune these cars is all the same. It lays in which Hardware and tuner you use that makes the difference.

The biggest thing with our cars is they are not like any other 3.2L MB has offered. I say this because the fuel injectors are a completely different size. Most tuning companies copy the tuning file from the SLK and assume it will work well on the Crossfire, but the Crossfire has 17lbs/hr vs. 19 lbs/hr for the SLK. I recall one company selling these tunes and not even knowing where the ECU was in the Crossfire. I suspect they were using a SLK file.

If you take already overtaxed injectors and try to squeeze more fuel out of them equal to a 19lbs/hr set up you will get subpar results.

We've worked with our tuners and with numerous A/F Dyno runs finally came up with a tune that will work much better for our cars.

That is the biggest difference. We are dedicated to exracting the HP out of the Crossfire not dynoing a SLK and hoping we get the same results.

So if you want a generic tune for the 3.2L motor go for it, but if you want a tune for the Crossfire we'll pencil you in for an appointment.

We are not tiring to step on anyone else's toes, just offering our OBD hardware to a computer savvy laptop wielding Tail of the Dragon event member to give test drives to potential Chip Tuning customers. If members feel it is inappropriate for two companies to be there competing for clients then we will respect your requests. We personally do not see an issue. More choices for the consumer is always a good thing.

i agree with the competition is a good thing theory and i do like the fact that you are trying to get a current driver to do the tunning and offer up their opinions! i think 2 stock xf's identicle, maybe limited coupes with autos? should each get a tune of either manufacturer than a best 2 out of 3 drag race??? that sound like another event for the dragon!

 

Just curious...do the drivers swap cars between races?

 

What laptop do you guys recomend, I need to buy one for my AutoDesk software anyways, so this could kill two birds.

Any other accessories requred or supplied by your company?

being as i said auto's im not included, and the whole stock thing blah blah, so sure i dont care if you guys go and tear eachothers cars up lol.

Is your agent just your agent for that event, or is he in the area/state before and after the event?
