Save Some Cash This Summer
Save Some Cash This Summer
I am setting up a friends 2005 Crossfire SRT6 with an E-85 conversion before the SRT meet in Indy This Easter Weekend. He already has a tune, fat *** pirelli p-zero corsa tires, cold air kit, and methanol injection. He also hopes to have his charger pulley by then, but we're not sur yet. I will leave info on how it goes, the car before tires, meth, and tune ran low 13 sec quarter. I've had the kit on my HEMI Ram for 3 months, and it has awesome power, and fuel mileage actually went up about 2 mpg!!! 105 octane, burns extra clean, with almost no odor, and we grow tons of it here in the great USA!!! Check out my site and see MYTHS BUSTED if you have doubts. www.mrpratede85.com!!!

Let's see........spending thousands for a E-85 conversion so I can save a few cents at the pump (If you can find E-85).........not for me!
Don't be fooled......you can't just re-flash the ECU to run E-85.....you have to basically replace the whole Fuel delivery system as well.

Its actually quite simple and inexpensive with the right kit. I was amazed how easy it is to do, and my truck runs great!! You'll be happy looking into it. Think of your savings compared to premium fuel? Not to mention the performance of 105, lol. Good Luck, and Beautiful Ride!!

Uhhhhh.....yea.........
No offense or anything........but I happen to know a thing or two about E-85, Vehicle emissions controls, and fuel systems.
I know enough to know I'm not going to save a thing!
BTW......how is it that you post in this area of the forum?

E-85 isn't very expensive at all to convert to and you shouldn't be looking at it for the fuel savings as compared to premium. Look at the difference in price between 100 octane pump gas($5.99/gallon here in vegas) as compared to 105 octane E-85($2.95/gallon here in vegas). Several of my friends have picked up 30+ RWHP on their boosted cars(no SRT-6's) just by converting and tuning on E-85.

e-85 has less energy per gallon than regular old gasoline and to achive the same power you would use more e85 and also e85 has been proven not to be good for the enviorment because if you include the factor in all the equipment and land used to grow it uses more energy to make than gasoline. Octane is not a measure of power but a measure of anti-knock.

hmmm, I can't think I've ever come across E-85 in my parts. Is it selectable or a permanent 100% all the time conversion. It would be cool if I didn't have to run it all the time...
and why are you posting in this section? This would be much better in the SRT-6 section of the technical section. You should have it moved.
