should have told them you want a dyno run with a n/a before and after, and a better price on those. theres no way that should cost that much unless its some really high dollar material.

As for as the MB community goes, LET creates some of the most affordable m112k headers around and they have dyno results to show the quality and power. If there are more affordable proven headers for the XF community, I'd love to see some links.

Thanks

exactly and where else can you even get headers? nowhere i know, just alot of talk from other places, won't mention names, i don't think its bad and thats the thing with getting a group buy together because parts are so much and not everyone can swing it, but those interested let me know, and well see what we can do.

IIRC, the different headers to get would come from: supersprint, kleemann, evosport, and the latest addition is LET (i think its a VRP piece). I could be wrong but renntech, brabus, carlsson could also provide headers. There are probably more, of which are probably even more expensive.

If the XF community knows of other manufacturers who are willing to create headers for the m112 at an even better price point than those listed above, then im sure there would be MB m112 owners who would be interested at long as the headers would be applicable.

IIRC, evosport had a day long sale for the m112 equal length headers before new years, but it was still about a grand.

The above headers are for the Sedan - - not for the 3.2L engine with the R170 frame.

The VRP header might fit but from what I understand it, performance is worse then the stock manifold.

VRP headers have not been completed, have not been run on the dyno, and are not on the market. So why are we already spreading rumors about their performance?

Considering they are being designed on an R170 it would be a safe assumption they would fit.

That's not what I read on the benzworld forum....??

Give the link below a good read - especially post #172 (dyno run with headers installed) - the thread died soon after... If you know something more - let us know - I based my comment from the below link - I wouldn't spread rumors... He clearly states that the headers are available for purchase NOW for $1,200 (post #189) and that was November of last year...

Is it just me or does it seem odd that they have tuning packages, with absolutely no description of anything about them.

Hell.....they have a full dissertation about a set of spark plugs?

I was boned up on these headers until I read the initial dyno results. Then I just gave up on the thread..as it wandered away..

Well designed headers will make power - in 2/4 barrel carbureted engine you may need to re-jet and/or play with the timing - but with our ECU, headers should make instant power. The ECU will adjust the injector pulse to compensate for the A/F ratio (rich or lean) and advance or retard the timing.

I just ran across the website and saw all srt-6 parts and emailed them and they told me the headers would fit the na i don't know if they meant those exact ones or different but i assume they meant those ones. I am sure they would add decent power and thats not a price compared to other companies who offer headers. What do they add for power if anyone does know for sure?

Those are not VRP headers. Those are made by a company in AZ.

Thanks for the update -

They are not the same - just the same forum members making comments - the headers I linked to never made power and are a dead issue..

Here is a link that just started (4/24/2008) to the VRP header thread- Let's see how they come out and the potential power they may make...

You NA guys need to read the SRT sites more often we have been aware of them for about a year now... Do you have a grand for the headers?
