Default Power "Surging" Under Mild Acceleration

I've had a serious problem with my car just feeling very sluggish after it warms up, and when giving light throttle going with the flow of traffic, the cars RPM's go up and down, almost as if it's going in and out of gear. It's just like a constant power surge on and off. My cars an auto stick and it was also being very clunky and so forth, so after research on the benz forums, everyone said for sure it had to be the MAF. Cleaning it didn't help for long, so $175 later (replacing it), the prolblem still exists, although the tranny does shift much smoother now.

Also, this really only happens after it's been driven awhile. After driving on the interstate it will definietly act up. If the car sits for a decent amount of time, it's just fine. Short trips back and forth to work it's ususally ok. Could it be a bad spark plug or something? Or another sensor?

04' N/A Coupe, auto stick, 50K miles.

I know this is far out reaching, but did you do a throttle reset...there are instructions on here for that...I know it sounds off the wall, but I did this to mine after installing the sprint booster and the car came alive...no more sluggish starts...

Have you done any modifications at all?
Presumably the air cleaner is clean, plugs etc. and all the obvious stuff like that?

It just has an intake. I haven't went through all the trouble of pulling the plugs because I didn't know if it was something I should consider since they are suppose to last another 50K miles. I wanted to get TVT's tuning but I think it will just make it act up worse.

justin, which intake...there was a problem...I think Valk dealt with this issue...try the reset again...mine didn't take the 1st time...I was ready to ship the sprint booster back...then I tried it again, finally took...I also unplugged the battery for 5 min or so...rebooted everything...so many sensors on this car...look for any vaccum links...and lastly fuel...may need to replace fuel filter..remember when you buy gas, the hose and line may still have lower octane fuel, and the gas station you use may not have the greatest gas either, so shop around....but a fuel filter wouldn't hurt...

Well I'm just going to assume my car needs a tune up. Maybe with the MAF being bad for so long it's fouled the plugs or something, or it's just time they get replaced. I'll get some new plugs and see what happens.

Try the plugs, I had a problem like that when I had my caddy. I Changed the plugs, put in a bottle of techron and it ran like new.
