Default New Key

The loop on my key broke when I dropped it and I'd like to get a new one. I've seen keys on eBay for about $20 - $30. What is best to get - cut or uncut? And what's the different? Also, what can I expect to pay to have it programmed? Is eBay the best way to get a new key or should I just go to the dealer?

Nevermind about this - I did a search on this site and found the answer to this question. Thanks!

Did you go with ordering a new one from the dealer?

I haven't done anything yet. But based on what I read, it's probably best to go with getting one from the dealer if the guts of the key aren't working. But there was another person who posted and said that he got the key and switched the insides to the new 'body'. That's probably all I need to do because there's nothing wrong with how it works, it's just that the loop is broken and I can't put the key on my keyring. Plus, the body of it is pretty beat up from the previous owner. I don't know how they screwed it up like that - it looks like it was dropped and stomped on daily.

This is kinda funny. When I was looking at keys on eBay, I noticed they all had panic buttons and I wondered why my key doesn't have a panic button. When I looked at it, I realized that it DID have a panic button but I didn't know it because the button had been slashed through and you can't see the word 'panic'.

I swear this car must've been previously owned by a teenager....
