74mm Throttle Body Upgrade
We are beginning to sell our 74mm TB upgrade for the N/A motors.
Here is a link: http://tvtdesign.com/inc/sdetail/1344
Price is 250.00 shipped to the USA.
This is a simple bolt on mod and will require no other modifications for proper functioning. Typical gains on a bone stock car are 5-8 HP, gains for an intake/tune car are closer to 15 HP.
These are OEM MB V8 Throttle Bodies that we rebuild. We also sell brand new Throttle Bodies, but the cost is near $500.00.
This is a great mod for those looking to get more Top end pull. Throttle response does not suffer nor does low or mid range torque.
The funny thing is that the hole on the manifold where the TB bolts up to is already bored out to 74mm, the stock one is too small from the get go.
For reference this is the same size Throttle Body used on 500 HP+ MB motors, so this will be the last TB you will ever need.

What about (CEL)?
What about a price break if someone gets CAI

For all you "bargainers" PM me with your requests and I'll do what I can on the prices.
TB+CAI= 510.00
TB+Tune= 700.00
If you purchase either the TVT250 or TVT265, the TB is only 200.00!

Re: 74mm Throttle Body Upgrade
Before I quote any expected numbers with this in addition to the TVT265, I want to get it on the dyno.
With our Stage 2 manifold I'm expecting more then 275 HP, so I really want the numbers to be exciting.
Just as a heads up we will be offering the Stage 2 mani and 74mm TB for 950.00 shipped.
I'm hoping to get the car on the dyno this week.

Re: 74mm Throttle Body Upgrade
Hey TVT,
Quick series of questions for you about the 74mm throttle body.
I live up here in Denver, CO, which is a smidge above 5200 feet.
As you know, with every 1k ft in elevation increase, there is a ~4% decrease in power output. So at 5k feet, I've lost 20%, and when I go up into the 11k ft region, which I do for all the really fun roads, I'm now down 44% compared to sea level.
So how much of an increase if the 74mm TB in comparison to the stock unit?
I don't notice where you mentioned what the size is, and I don't remember reading it anywhere in the site.
How much of an increase is there in air flow between stock and 74mm?
How much of a difference would you believe that there would be in the performance of a Crossfire up in my region between stock, and 74mm TB, at the different altitude levels I've mentioned?
Right now, I'm sure that this car is backing off on the fuel mixture due to the thinner air.
I'm wondering if the larger TB might get the performance back to what sea level should be here at 5200 ft.
Thanks,
BC.
