Default 7th injector or larger injectors???

I have been thinking about a 7th fuel injector on 6cyl or a 5th on a 4 cyl..
First of all I want to say if you mod your engine, any engine, at one point you are going to be told or you know when you run lean you need bigger injectors, they do cost a lot of money,,, and the only time you really need the larger injectors is at W.O.T. well this is a idea I have been kicking around in my head for a few days now,
Think nitrous,, now think empty bottle, you have the fuel side still in operation, and when you hit w.o.t. your engine bogs, runs rich, ..
For less than $100.00 you can buy a, fuel solenoid, throttle switch , a activation switch fuel line (1 to 2 feet long) and an assortment of jets….( fuel line to schrader valve on fuel rail)
When your car runs lean say afr of 17.4 at wot you know you are lean, so you put in a small jet try again, if you have a afr of say 14.7 go with a larger jet and do it again,,, until you get the 11.6 to 12.3 afr.
Remember this system has two switches one to turn every thing on and the other to activate it at wide open throttle W O T only ,,,so as long as the main switch is off nothing will happen you drive around with the same mpg as now. Flip the switch floor it and you have the same as larger injectors. On the crossfire the nozzle would be installed in the Y going to the intake manifold, I will try this soon just to say yes or no it about it working, jim

Or you could run one off a WB O2 and use another injector. And get some smart engineer to design you a controller.

Now that I think about it, what about meth/eth/water injection, based on a progressive controller? Those are available. There is also a closed-loop standalone laptop-programmable controller project going on with the turbo GN's :

It's been done in the Turbo Dodge community for years.

This is a great resource on playing with boosted engines, especially 2.2L TD's.

i ran 4 auxillary injectors on my turbo r/t neon back in the day ... right behind the primaries ... controlled by a home built megasquirt and tuned with a aem wideband.

worked well.

i've run single injector aux on a later build... this works well under boost as long as you have a intake manifold that distributes air well ... i imagine the crossfires manifold is more than adaquate.

Vortech supercharged LT1 F-Bodies had injectors (3 i think) installed in a plate on top of the Throttle Body. Under boost they would kick in progressively to supply additional fuel to match the increase in boost.

Jim I have to admit that I can not figure out how to go back and search my own posts. Look and you should see the one that I did with a simple hose from that manifold to the fuel pressure regulator and solved the problem with the a/f issue. Lean is caused by the loss of presure differential across the injector due to the higher cyclinder pressure with boost. IF I knew Id show you but it was in the last 2 months, and yes I have a finer tune capability that Iam working on with all the other issues like my Soviet suprise inthe electrical department coming up next month. Enjoy, Woody

Is the Soviet surprise called Sputnik? I can't wait no matter what you name it.
