let me just say this, and I don't really care what or who thinks what...when I first installed the SB, it didn't do anything for the car, nada...nothing...I called and asked and was told to do the throttle reset until I could tell the difference...I thought right! This is going to fix it...well after several tries and ready to pull the thing out and send it back, it finally worked...and there is a lot of difference...absolutely no lag anymore...after a few more mods and a tune...I have learned if you buy a tune...they can take care of the lag...but the SB is there and this old SB is going to keep it...it works...period...so if your test didn't include a throttle reset, then you may have not actually had the SB responding...

well, Hands, like I said I don't really care what or who thinks what, I thought at first it was a piece of crap for the money...but it finally worked...I thought they were jerking me around as well, but it worked...argue all you want with whoever you want, but it works...the noticeable lag was gone...a tune will take care of the problem as well.....but a tune will cost you even more...but dont' mislead others who might be interested...that old greek company wouldn't be in business as long as it has catering to the MB crowd if they sold junk...and by the way, some of those SBs were recalled...but you obviously know more about this than me...this is what worked for me, for Franc and others...good luck with your BS or SB...whichever it is....throttle pressure, foot to the floor and hang on....that's throttle pressure....

Well Well, lets look at it like this and not revert to name callin,

Some are not buying a SB because it can be made by RadioShack parts for $5.00 , thats cool do it.

Some say they have tested it by "insert type" test and it does nothing, thats cool don't do it.

Some say they tested it with the "Buttometer", it works great, cool do it.

Bad mouthing each other over our opinion and also making snide remarks about the company that makes the device is just bad manners. Everyone has their own perception of everything they are involved in and that perception is their reality and that is OK, in this case there is no right or wrong, to some it works and to other it does not, OK.

I know i should have not done it, But i cant stand when somebody talks out there butt, I would have tryed to explain to him like i have everybody on here that was kind about asking, but when he called me misleading and BS, Thats what got me, Im not the only one that has done these tests, and is why i posted the white paper, And followed the same test with the same outcome. The red line SB ..the blue OE. If you look at where the red line goes up first and the blue line goes up second (the start)that is where the pedals were FIRST stepped on , the red was stepped on sooner than the blue, that part of the graph is due to the person stepping on the pedal sooner with the SB Than the OE, Now if you over lay the two line so that they have a equal starting point They have a equal curve pretty much until A LITTLE BEFORE 1/2 pedal where they begain to seperate, Now from half throttle to full throttle The red line gets there sooner than the other, This could be good, this could equate to throttle lag but look at the time frame 0,4 (FOUR TENS OF A SECOND) Theres no way you could feel that . But if you notice At 3/4 pedal you max out and the throttle and its all the way open the red one, at full pedal the blue one is there maxed, the both maxed out full open Right, the red one was sooner right, now look at the time it took to do it all, FOUR TENS OF A SECOND, now when you look at the time where the two lines seperate its even a smaller time frame, So the only thing it does THE SB is allows you too use less pedal to Achieve full throttle, WHICH GIVES YOU THAT FEEL...IT DOES NOTHING FOR THROTTLE LAG ...WHICH I AM SAYING AND HAVE BEEN SAYING...IT LETS YOU USE LESS PEDAL THATS ALL IT DOES...
Now im sure the next question is where did you get the graph...from the SB web page

 

The white page i posted showed the very same thing just not as pretty of a graph than the SB did..but the white page had a few more test ..that really confirmed what it does and did the same when i tested it , it did the very same thing...as there graph shows you,, Its all in the graph as to what it does, If you got rid of throttle lag would it not make your 0 to 60 time faster...YES ....YES.... YES.... YES it would but if you rread the SB web page they clearly say does not improve 0 to 60...but it makes it FEEL FASTER..that why i said i would set in your car for 200 and tell you your car feel faster. These guys are Offering you something...a feel for 320.00 come on

SB will not improve 0-60. Manual or Auto.

Why?

Because it does nothing to increase HP.

In a manual tranny you can wait for the engine to ramp up before engaging the clutch.
In an Autostick, you can power brake the launch.
End result, no difference thru the trap.

You are obviously an Autostick guy, push and go.

For the Manual tranny enthusiast, the synching of the engine RPMs too the selected gear is part of the ART of driving. This requires a responsive throttle. The SB provides that.

It is not a feel thingy. Going from a car with the SB to one without proves it. I've done it several times. Be happy to wipe my butt meter with your graph anytime to prove it. But unless you are a real stick guy, you would likely not even notice.

I have had my Xfire for over a year now. The throttle lag in the Xfire is still annoying. The throttle on my Dodge Cummings is more responsive. Worth $320.00 to fix? Jury is still out on that.
